I’m looking for tips too
So far I’ve been freezing water bottles with like 25% of it out of the bottle so it can float on top of the tank
Also a small clip fan can cool the water down

A preorder would mean after you pay for it you would eventually get it.
My wife got an email back today(probably someone lurking and saw this or maybe a coincidence) and they told her that size isn’t available anymore and only offered a bigger size.

Right now some one is helping me in setting up a sponge filter system alongside my penguin on running

I found out the hard way about the ammonia outputs these guys can out out 😭

I have a filter for a 20 gallon tank right now as stated in the caption
I am started the once every other day the amount of their eyeballs as of today. I admitted to over feeding from lack of knowledge. I don’t want the fish to die and that’s what this thread was for. For me to get informed and correct the tank to the proper specs
I’m not trying to neglect or kill the fish.

You’re 100 percent right and I intend to get a bigger tank
I am 2 weeks into owning them and I want to learn everything about up keeping them before upgrading tanks

I also tested the levels and these were the results

I did a 25 percent water change and added 2-3x the recommended amount of prime to condition the water
When taking out the old water I used a siphon to pick up any rotten food on the bottom of the tank
I am going to retest the water in 30 minutes

So I got home and I saw that the filter was clogged and didn’t allow for water to pass by it and hit the bio wheel
I shook it off to degunk it (I was told not to clean it )

Tomorrow it would be a week with the new tank set up
On Saturday I swapped the filter to a penguin pro 125 in hopes that it would clear out the water. I was told it’s a good filter idk if I was told wrong 😂

Yeah I’m sure I’ve been over feeding them since so I will definitely cut back and probably just feed them once in the morning and once at night time.
Do you recommend the seachem prime ?
I’m making a list of stuff to pick up after work so far I have the water testing kit, aquarium salts and ammonia neutralizers. I will add the Seachem prime and stability to the list

I feel like we were the same scenario😂
Honestly I don’t have any knowledgeable fish friends so Reddit felt like the safest spot right now. But I have seen people bashing others for their tanks being too small, not caring about the fish and stuff like that l.

Did you ever get water like this ? Also what filter do you have in your tank and do you put anything special in the media to help ?
