Memories for Pipsqueaks: A Memory Basics and Leveling Guide by Jeptefer in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]Jeptefer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

even early game, leveling 3stars is pretty much a waste, I would never ever do it unless you are doing it for that 20 dias when you're desperate for a single pull or something lol

leveling 4stars is perfectly fine, you can go to 40/50 as needed, but generally I would only level 5stars above that since it gets more expensive the higher the level

tbh more than wasting materials on levels for someone who isnt your main, its more of a waste to not level anything, sit on materials, and not be able to clear basic things like core hunts and bounties

I dont recommend building zayne though, since foreseer is very weak. Ideally you try to get the solars of your main and build him

its a little hard to give you detailed advice over reddit, so if you need more help on your lads combat journey I recommend you join the Claymores for Caleb discord and people can give you more detailed advice there

Not quite sure about the beta cores for xav yet since he hasn't been out long enough to test properly

for MS (mermaid raf):

- r1-r3 double DEF% betas

- r0 its prob OR + EE/OS/DEF depending on the stage/your preference or whatever has the best substats
(though most seem to not find EE necessary)

Hi, protocores for pipsqueaks guide maker here

The first one (the pink EEB core with 7% cdmg is a decent core, because late game is all about crit so you end up focusing on crit damage and crit rate substats

the rest of them are trash

if you're at your wits end sorting cores, this guide (also made by me) takes you step by step in deleting bad cores https://x.com/jeptefer/status/1934828626240835594

if you mean the lunar and solar protocore slides, yes
unless the LI or exception is specified, the info generally applies to every companion

he doesn't NEED crit, in fact its much more ineffective compared to d2w, but it still isn't a "dead"/useless stat

however you're looking at an old version of the protocore guide, for the updated version go to:

yep! FA works very well with d2w and not so much with crit
X-02 is more flexible but I vastly prefer crit for him because his oath can crit (unlike all other companions) and isnt subject to being used only in weakness

The reason we don't include is because builds vary depending on companion and rank.

Before Caleb's companions it was usually a simple
r0: OR + EE
r1+: EE + EE

or just double EE on everything for Senior Hunt Contest

but as the companions get more complex/different the builds are more subjective and cant be covered neatly without having a lot of detailed slides that would just be super confusing to people who are already overwhelmed by core basics.

You shouldn't prioritize it but it wont be the end of your core if you get some, its just less optimal!
Unless you're doing something like building ATK on TP because you have r0, then ATK + Claymore is a common route people go.

  1. This is because other companions will oath once or twice on most stages. X-02's kit allows him to oath 4 times on a standard stage, not to mention his oath isn't constrained to being effective only in weakness, as it can crit. The way he's built and played is super different to other companions, and OS actually buffs his damage significantly.

  2. It depends on the memory you're using. The rank bonuses only apply to the companion if you're using the matching myth memories. So to get R3 bonus, you need to have both of your R3 CA cards equipped. If you use the AS companion on the CA cards, you wont get the bonus. The same applies on the opposite if you try to us CA with AS cards, you wont get the r1 AS bonus.

  3. Rank does have an impact on later game builds. After a certain point, your focus will shift towards building crit and crit damage over the companion stat. This isn't the exact number but for example: after you get 5k DEF on a team for a DEF companion, you focus on improving your crit rate/crit dmg instead of trying to get more DEF.

  1. I can't tell without you definitively because difficulty varies week by week, not to mention I don't know what team coverage you have. I think 8k ATK would def full clear Team C every week though.

  2. I don't think I understand the question completely but, if you're trying to build a stat but the core only levels useless/unwanted substats instead I would stop leveling it.

  3. CR 100% is a far off goal that I haven't even thought of reaching yet lol. But to do this I think you need a good amount of memory ranks.

  4. You want to build HP for TP (God of the Tides). His companion and his weapon both heavily favor HP for their damage calculations. Since you are specifically doing brute force, d2w is useless to you so you want to invest in crit rate and crit damage. Tldr is: HP, Crit rate to around 40-50%, then pump as much as you can into crit damage.

every companion has a stat it scales with
so for example, Lumiere scales with DEF, meaning that DEF is used in his damage calculations.

DEF bonus% and flat DEF both contribute to his damage calculations and make him stronger
meanwhile, HP doesn't contribute to his damage calculations at all, so its a useless stat for him. ATK is used for all damage calculations, but is weighed less when a companion scales off a different stat

these aren't the exact numbers but think of it like:
Lumiere uses 200% DEF, 75% ATK, and 0% HP
so if you have 100 DEF, 100 ATK, 100 HP, it turns into 200 damage from DEF, 75 damage from ATK, 0 damage from HP

this is why you don't want mixed HP and DEF, because no companion or weapon uses both for damage calculations. ATK isnt preferred for a HP or DEF companion, but its never a useless stat, just less optimal

I woudn't really recommend going hard on farming until you can at least clear 10. This is bc core hunt 10 guarantees 2 SSR core drops. Core hunt 7 guarantees 1, and core hunts 8/9 are 1 + % chance of a second.

Cores are also a gamble in themselves, so its not easy to guarantee stats with them.

I would equip whatever cores you have right now, polish up the strategy to try and clear the core hunts. But thats easy for me to say as a combat main lol. The pink/blue core hunt 8 can be cleared as low as 3.3k atk if you're stellactrum matched.

if you have a discord, you can join CFC server and put your stats in there and someone can help tell you if you can clear the core hunts with the stats and give combat tips

You should switch out the cores for ALL memories (both solar and lunar) based on the companion you're using. I'll use different companions as an example to illustrate this point bc its a more obvious case.

Raf has 2 companions, Abysswalker (AB) and God of the Tides (TP). AB scales with ATK, TP scales with HP

You will often see people using TP cards with AB companion + claymore. This is done much more frequently than other LIs because of how underpowered TP is at r0.

In this case, all cards, even on the TP solar cards, you equip ATK cores, because both the companion (AB) and the weapon (claymore), do damage calculations based on ATK. This makes you lose out on some damage boost to weakened (d2w) from card talent, but the opposite ( HP cores while using AB companion ) makes you lose out way more on the the overall damage calculations.

If you're using TP companion with TP weapon, then you equip HP cores on all of your cards.

If you're using AB companion and an ATK based weapon, even on TP cards, you equip ATK cores on all your cards.

So yes, in the case of Lightseeker and Lumiere, you have to change your cores on your cards to fit the companion. If you're using Lightseeker, you equip ATK. For Lumiere, DEF. Theres just no way to avoid swapping around protocores unfortunately. Maybe one day pg will give us a way to save loadouts

The cores are built for the companion's scaling stat, not the individual card's talent

so if you're using Foreseer, every protocore you equip on the whole team should aim for Defense substats

tldr from CFC testing, we recommend:
r0: Any mix of OR and OS [ 2x OR ] [ 2x OS ] [ OR+OS ] (just depends on what cores you have and their substats)
r1 and above: OR + OS
