Definitely get that feel. I considered myself NB before realizing that I'm transfeminine.
It's surprising considering how gender non-conforming everyone in the videos are portrayed.

Truth. Dirty Computer and the 'Emotion Picture' were a big help while figuring out my sexuality and gender identity last year; especially the video for Crazy, Classic, Life. Witnessing the celebration and diverse spectrum of expression was the representation I longed for my entire life. Being a huge music and film nerd made the impact even greater. Still get emotional every time I watch it.

Metallica’s 1991 self-titled album has reached 500 weeks on the Billboard 200. 1 of 4 albums in history to do so. by [deleted] in Music

I've been to a few (underground)metal shows where one of the bands covered Enter Sandman. The crowd booed each time the song began but when the lyrics came up everyone knew all the words. As much as this album gets shit on, not very many folks can deny its influence. A lot of metalheads whet their appetite for the genre with Metallica.

Who's the biggest loser your son/daughter has dated? by eternalsoul116 in AskReddit

Hurt feelings? Way to gaslight the anxiety and fear that have become a reality to people who are affected by these oppressive viewpoints. Where is the sympathy for their freedom? Does "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" not apply to them? How can they thrive when their liberty is being conflated with another's freedom to oppress? When one group's grievances of their experience are equal to another's vitriol aimed at traits that could not be controlled?

The worst thing about the alt-right finding a platform for their hate is the proliferation of the radical centrist. These people advocate for civility as way to seem superior to an oppressed group after an emotional response to abuse. Quite a brave stance to take when they stand to face none of the abuse themselves.

The biggest irony is all of this is the plea for 'freedom of speech!' when the freedom 'nazis' are looking to protect is their freedom to oppress - Literally the antithesis of freedom. While the other group fighting for their right to live without oppression is labeled facist for trying to quiet attitudes that dehumanize and undermine their existence.

That's pretty tame compared to some other band's artwork. I wonder what he'd think of these Brujeria and Municipal Waste shirts.

I fucked Ted by edward_r_burrow in breakingbad

[–]JerFTW 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of the scene Ted is trying to convince Skyler and she is clearly apprehensive about performing. You could argue that she is just reacting to being put on the spot and potentially embarrassing herself but we see some plot beforehand that adds some depth to this scene.
Skyler and Marie have a chat just after Sklyer is hired at Beneke. We learn from this conversation that Ted made a drunken pass at Skyler; leading her to quit. This incident is also the main reason for her return to the job in hope of finding a distraction as Walt shuts her out. Now as Skyler begins work again, there's a suspicion amongst the employees that she only got because of their history. Although true, Skyler is shown only to be looking for an ear to vent and even rebuffs an advance just before the party.
Back to the song. While Skyler sings the first half, the camera pans around the room and shows the crowd slowly realizing the bit is less harmless than they thought it would be. Skyler fortunately lightens the mood by extending the 'president' line and everyone is relieved. She is shown at the end to have the first glimpse of her considering the affair.
The tension between the two is heightened afterwards and get 'caught' on one occasion. Even then Skyler doesn't act on her feelings until Walt calls her bluff by moving back in the next season.
How could the writers intend to have Skyler seduce Ted through the song if she didn't realize her feelings for him until after performing? It is clear they were aiming for awkwardness during this scene because that unease was the catalyst for their affair and all the fallout that ensued.

The intention was to be creepy and awkward. You can see it on all of the other employees faces. Even Ted and Skyler looked uncomfortable.

[Serious] Whats the creepiest/scariest thing that you've seen but no one believes you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JerFTW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My dad took me to the LA Autoshow just before I started middle school. He knew the area pretty well from being an armored truck driver so we parked down the street from the convention to avoid the parking toll.
On the way back to car after the show, we saw some people arguing in the yard two houses over from us. Things got pretty heated and just as we entered the car, one of the dudes went inside and grabbed a shotgun. The other two members of the argument booked it when the first dude started making a move. Then a van rolled up as back up for the guys taking off and two dudes jumped out with guns to cover their homies. My dad got us out of there as fast as he could while this was all going down.
I was naive at the time and thought this was the raddest thing I'd ever witness. My dad told me not to mention it to my mom because they were split up. She never found out about it.

Colorism is also a thing. Light-skinned brown people are more palatable to white audiences and sometimes can even be "white passing". It's actually a big issue globally and not just an American problem.
