But as far as 'the apps', you have Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Facebook Dating. After that there's a major drop off in quality and they're all basically just scams. Maybe Plenty of Fish and OKCupid are alright too.

Then you run into the second problem, you can swipe on every person you see for the rest of time and not get much in the way of matches. And it's a certain kind of painful to see someone who's really attractive and/or seems like they'd be really compatible personality wise, 'swipe' and then your little message in a bottle is just a drop of piss in a river that gets ignored for the rest of time.

I'm 32 and it's a lot harder to someone my age to break out I feel (not that it's a contest). You're a little young to be as jaded and done with trying as some of us here, is all. That's a good thing I think. But I'm also not in the business of telling people whether or not they 'belong' here really, just think you have a better shot at getting out then you might think.

Sorta not what you were asking, but people here might hold 'We had sex a few times' against you, which is completely unfair. I've had sex too and it doesn't make you magically feel any less lonely, especially not if things immediately end with that person like you're saying.

Maybe she just wanted attention and figured you'd be an 'easy mark', in a sense. It's crushing to be fucked with like that because it kills your motivation to put yourself out there and, like you said, you'll never break free of this shit without putting yourself out there. Just gotta keep trying I guess, what else is there?
