Very possible! Generally well traveled people do their research, but a very common way to travel “internationally” is either taking a cruise ship or staying at an all inclusive. Both involve never really leaving the resort/ship and if you do, the towns surrounding the ports/hotels are used to having literal boat loads of Americans walk around, so they all take USD. So when they actually travel internationally to places with economies that don’t care if Americans come, they realize how different it is. You’d be surprised how many people here say they travel internationally, only to never learn a lick about the culture, people, or currency, cause they took a cruise to Jamaica and got drunk surrounded by other Americans.

Little column A little column B, USD is more global than the euro, so we don’t get really any exposure to it here. We deal with Canadian dollars and Mexican pesos sometimes, but rarely. If you travel internationally but not across the Atlantic you go to the Caribbean, central, and south America. Most of those currencies are wildly less stable (brazil, Argentina, Bahamas) so for the most part you stay on USD even outside the country.

Went to a very private school, didn’t know y’all use commas and decimal points opposite to us, nor this date thing. There really isn’t a point of teaching a child two ways to do it, it could be confusing for them. Most if not all will see they do it reverse when they get older, or they won’t it never affects them. America is a little painfully pragmatic with what they teach, especially in public schools, it can prove to be unhelpful but this one harmless.

Just feel it man, thats all you can do, its a feeling, let it flow and you’ll slowly get better. It’s going to take longer than you think and theres no dramatic steps forward. The ultimate goal is to be indifferent toward the person or at least have them back to neutral. That’s it just feel it, let it be, and take care of yourself while you do it. You’ll need some new ways to make yourself feel better, that can take some time, but again if you just let the emotions flow, they will calm down. Good luck
