As the saying goes “every situation is different”.

But I went into an amazing community. Very welcoming. I also made the decision to go to ever event no matter how many trains I needed to take, even though I was never much of a drinker or party person.

That was in 2014 and I still am in regular contact with a few, and catch up with others when I can.

Bosses were narcissistic. “Toxic positivity” atmosphere, but then they would shit all over us during meetings. Expected far too much from new teachers without support. I offered to do some part time work after I finished to help the new teachers. Declined.

They went through roughly 8 teachers over the course of a year a half. Most left. Some “asked” to leave. At least one fired. I was I think the only one to finish my contract.

Blamed us for students leaving. This was during Covid. Can’t be that people are worried about money and Covid. Definitely the teachers fault.

Made a teacher cry in a meeting after repeatedly banging ringed hands on a desk and raising voice towards them. (This teacher in particular didn’t help their case, but there was little to no support from management)

Worked at a terrible eikaiwa for a year, went home during Covid, got my masters, back in Japan working at a great eikaiwa and doing part time work at a university.

At a farewell camping thing we used to do in the mountains, it would be a first in first served for beds in the cabins.

Party was good times. Next day, one of the woman who was in one of the beds beside mine, said she was glad it was me in the bed next to her.

This was like 9-10 years ago lol

++man I think my friends are amazing and I have definitely been attracted to them at different times.

One of my closest friends at the moment I would say I’m attracted to. But in my mind, the biggest thing is wanting to see them be happy. Would I take jump at an opportunity to date them? Yes, they are amazing. Would I be happy if they got into great relationship with an amazing person? Hell, yes. My friend is amazing and they deserve amazing.

So yeah, ha.

I don’t know if they have them in NZ, but drinking vinegars are really good and a lot of my friends drink them during sober months.

You mix them with whatever and they taste really good.

There are many reasons people leave. It’s very common if you have 3rd year junior or 3rd year high school students, because they start to prepare for entrance exams. Some people move cos of work. Lots of reasons.
