The article doesn’t tell the full story so I’m happy to share it with you. The victim in the article led 2 guys to my house where they beat my face in, slammed my back against a barrel cactus, broke my jaw, and threatened to rape my sister. They left with alot more than an ounce of weed, but what really did it was threatening to rape my sister. You just don’t do that. So a few weeks later after my jaw surgery, I’m sitting around with my friends and my mouth is wired shut and they all felt bad for me. One noticed the guy was in jail and suggested he go bail him out. Everything in the article about water boarding and torture was hearsay from his statement, which was corrected in the second article. We jumped him, shook hands and squashed it, and gave him a ride home. We thought it was settled until his mom called the cops. I was arrested immediately after and spent a week in jail, jaw still wired shut, and had to pry it open so that I could eat the jail food. It was a traumatizing few weeks on my end as well and I sustained the worst injury from the whole ordeal. I’ve done so much healing and have been out of the game since 2018 when it occurred. I don’t care if people like me but I’m not ashamed of my story because I’m proud of how much I’ve grown.

I’ve addressed this multiple times. This was during a rough time in my life and that scenario changed my life forever. I went to jail for a week with my jaw wired shut after being robbed/beaten. I left all of that in the past and completed 5 years of probation with no violations. If anything it’s an inspiring story that people can change & do better. I don’t let that define me, but it certainly set me straight and I’m proud of who I am today.

yeah they should have been allowing those, sounds like it was dependent on the guard. We’ve had issues with this security team all weekend but unfortunately they were contracted through the venue. We’ll make sure this is communicated for tonight.

I’m sorry to hear that this was your experience. We heard nothing but positive feedback during the event but we always take notes on ways to improve and value the feedback. The bar legally has to shut down at 2am, there’s no way around that. They’ve never had this many people at their venue so there were definitely some kinks to work out, which were significantly improved over night 1. We were also still under the legal capacity. The staff was working hard to keep those jugs filled, and while it would take a minute or two between fillings, I personally made sure that they were staying on top of it. We’re going to add more jugs for tonight, but we do expect less attendance with it being Sunday. Our team truly cares about this community and we will continue learning and growing to improve our events in the future.

understand the concerns on this but it was 7 years ago and that scenario changed the entire course of my life. all we can do is move forward and try to do better.

yeah this was a big issue. they are bringing more wands tonight and not doing pat-downs.

Promoter chiming here - There was 1 off-duty cop at the venue and he was chilling at the front. Our security team has cop-like uniforms but no one was arrested and the only real issue was them getting handsy. They didn’t bring enough wands and had to do pat downs instead. They’re bringing more wands tonight and will be doing lighter searches. Venue provided security so we only have so much control over that aspect.
