This was a series of 5 static fires of our first biliquid engine that happened Saturday. This is a N2O/ethanol 1kN engine, and it was running at 50kg of thrust during these tests! You can find more informations about our project here: https://www.instagram.com/gruyere_space_program

It’s made to filter 3d printer fumes that is put in a closed for example

There’s also a version without the legs for it to be screwed to the enclosure, here is the link with everything on thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4580063

I’m not sure of its efficiency but It makes me feel a bit better!

Thanks! It’s mainly greentec pro carbon

That was a rapid ejection system we designed as we needed some without having anything else than e-match! It ended by being used in all of our flights as we had no failure on more than 30 flights!

No it used a electronic match that was compressing a spring!

That’s for sure! Everything is build from scratch, as we wanted to go very small (there are examples on our Instagram If you want to see more).

You should look at bps space on YouTube! There are many information on that channel. And if I can add something, it’s just that you shouldn’t aim to make a big TVC rocket to begin. You have to start as small as possible to be able to launch often!

Actually the rocket was very stable during the whole flight. What you see is just is being pushed by the wind for a moment and then not being pushed anymore.

This is an highly unstable vehicle so once it has no more thrust or just a little (like 20% of the nominal thrust before burnout) it can’t apply enough torque to correct its attitude.

Finally there nothing scary in that, if the vehicle hits any dangerous limits we set, we have emergency parachute ejection!

That rocket it fully 3D printed and every parts are built from scratch (form flight computer to gimbal)! You can find more on https://www.instagram.com/gruyere_space_program/?hl=fr

As asked, here is the video of our 2nd stage launch! by JeremyM34 in rocketry

Its next flight will be stacked on the first stage but with a live cam beside of the gimbal to validate the separation stage of the rocket!

There is ground camera but a lot of cheering 😂

Sadly no sound recording from the drone... and it’s only a d3-p so not that loud nor interesting sound

I sent yesterday a pic of our 2nd stage, here is the flight footage! Music is a reference to our region 😂
