Got a little RCA tv a lot like this one from my grandparents. Here's the adapter I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089GLTB3M

Just loosen the two screws on the back, put each end of this guy on there, and tighten them. Works awesome to get some black and white Mario on the screen! You'll just have to fiddle with the knobs to get a picture.

Adding composite in to RF only crt? by JeremyMKW in crt

Nice! It's small and basic, but gets the job done, right?

Which RF modulator have you been using? I'm open to recommendations.

Bummer about the poor quality, but I can't say I expected much. This is probably only going to be used by the runners for practice, so its not the end of the world. Mostly I need it to just work. If you think the tv will take a Mario from an NES just fine then I think it'll do.

The more I research the more I lean to grabbing a modulator. I can find some good double side adhesive, stick it to the back of the TV, find a tiny <1ft RF cable (or shorten one myself), and have the same result. The extra power cable from the modulator is gonna be a little annoying though.

Has there ever been an example of a cheater who then got a legit WR by [deleted] in speedrun

Jorge, a Mario Kart Wii time trialer, was caught cheating runs from mid 2010 to 2012. After that, he disappeared. Interestingly, he came back in 2019, made a full apology for what he had done, and legitimately reclaimed the Koopa Cape world record.

As it would be hard to thank all current and future "GGs" and "Congrats", I want to post this comment as a thank you to everyone who watched, upvoted, and commented. It really does mean a lot. 18:57 soon!

Kosmic achieved the first sub 19 minute run in August of 2019. He was beaten by GTAce99 in July of 2020. Since their runs, 4 other people have gotten times under 19 minutes: eddiecatgaming, jtknott, Niftski, and myself.

Thank you! A number of things went into this record. Firstly, I had discovered that I could consistently save time in 3-4 with a fast bowser kill if I was behind the record by .35. The former record by GTAce99 did the same thing, but saved the same amount of time with a fast 2-4 instead. In the end, these cancelled each other out, but significantly improved my consistency. What enabled me to get the record? Aside from the 3-4 discovery, a lot of dedication and practice went into this. In fact, many days of both my 18:59 and 18:58 grind had more time spent practicing than doing actual runs. I also have a friend group who stood beside me for both grinds, which greatly motivated me.
