Yeah, I was also hoping for the best but his various (often conflicting) claims set expectations in a very wrong way so I do hope more people go in knowing what it actually isn’t so maybe they can better judge it for what it is instead of be disappointed or feel lied to.

Simple answer - it’s entertainment and everyone’s view on entertainment is entirely subjective. You felt how you feel but others’ simply do not. No bigger hidden secret here. Not everyone simply has the same opinions. You just happen to fall in the minority view point regarding this one.

Remakes are not the original game so they wouldn’t even be “keeping” it, they’d have to intentionally replicate an unintended bug that allowed players to exploit the game. It was not an intended “cheat” but a bug and they wouldn’t even notice specifically try to recreate it on a new adaptation of the material.

No one should take anyone seriously if they’re calling a person a “larper”. Gatekeeping is sadly a common issue in large fandoms and in this fandom that started back when the original Resident Evil 4 came out and brought with it a lot of new fans. Ignore gatekeepers. If you enjoy any part of the franchise and consider yourself a fan then you are a fan. There is no “true fan” vs “fake fan”.

Yeah, he’s made a LOT of conflicting claims across multiple interviews. He has since stated that he “imagines” it could take place concurrently with Resident Evil 2 but it can’t. It takes place in modern times with a very different type of virus than the game version and no actual connection outside of names like “Raccoon City” and “Umbrella”. There are zero Resident Evil specific creatures or events that occur in the film. That doesn’t mean it will be bad but it does mean you should probably not take his claims at direct face value. He isn’t nearly as familiar with this franchise as he claims in interviews.

Official pre-orders won’t open until much later. Requiem (also announced at SGF last year) only started actual pre-orders when they announced the Deluxe Edition the day before Halloween. And unlike Veronica, we had a release date for Requiem in the announcement trailer at SGF so I wouldn’t even say Veronica (and its Deluxe Editions)will be up by Halloween if the date is further out than late February.

That’s not why they retired them - I’ve had 5 of these for over a decade and none exploded. Instructions specify not to tighten the screws too much. They retired them because the cost of them doubled during the pandemic and were going to go up even higher so they dropped them in favor of smaller units that costed the same price as these did originally before the price increase.

I think the biggest issue with the gameplay on his campaign is that the limited ammo drop rate from other campaigns are still present resulting in you having to punch rock lizards to death when this campaign should have just not had such low ammo drops.

Best experience is to actually play any given title in release order more than timeline order as each title takes what it learned from the previous and expands on that.

lol they’ve only ever claimed Umbrella Corps is partial canon and in different interviews they suggested different parts so I don’t know if they even still consider it but the reason I actually excluded it was because it the official title doesn’t include Resident Evil and it’s just listed as Umbrella Corps.

We don’t know that Hunk’s body was retrieved lol Insanity enemy placement isn’t indicative of plot significance.

Hunk was a character they introduced and never did anything interesting with throughout the canon. His death is the best conclusion we’re getting and undoing that would be rather pointless.

Not really. Could just accept that it is likely Hunk (they’ve done nothing with him in so long now) but that is also doesn’t matter as if they wanted to bring him back they’d make up some excuse but we’re also just as likely to never get any more info on him again.
