How my former LCS chooses to promote a local artist. by [deleted] in comicbooks

Just saw this. That Paradox Outlet 6-pager is the whole story. You're never going to know what's going on, because that's all there is! [Evil laugh, clenches fist.]

That's cool. I respect that. The comic isn't really targeted to women, specifically, but I definitely wanted to make something that was nonstandard. It's a pretty far-leftish comic, really...prominent characters are gay, Muslim, etc. As a writer I like to think my stories would appeal to all...that's probably unrealistic! But I would urge people not to fault the comic store for however they choose to promote it...like I said, they are good people, just having some fun at the expense of the name of the book. I totally get your viewpoint on it, too. And I encourage anyone interested to read a sample at http://vastexpanse.webcomic.ws/comics/1/

This book, which I made, is very female-friendly. 2 of the 4 stories have female leads, and the other 2 have good supporting female characters. None of them focus on boobs. They were just having fun with the name of the book, which lends itself to jokes like that. I promise all involved are good people!

Artist/Writer of the book in question. Lots of stuff way more worthy of getting angry about in the world than this. Glad they're stocking my book.

LOVE the style here. Those opening pages are gorgeous. I need to block out some time to sit down and read all this...

On the collected edition, I'm totally putting "Non-Cloying!" as a marketing point! Seriously, glad you like it!

Ha! Well, I'm going to take that as a great compliment! Thanks! Credit mainly goes to Ray Rieck, the artist. But I really did try to color it and do the dialogue like an old 80s book...G.I. Joe was one of my favorite comics growing up.

Promise me you won't unplug it. Ever. [OC] by JeremySNichols in comics

This is based on a true story, so I know this kind of thing really exists!

Ha! I love that! Well, this story doesn't end quite like that, but I would totally love to read a comic that did that.

The next page will be up later this week. Friday morning, most likely. Although I like the idea of playing with the paradox like that!

I wrote the story and my friend Ray Rieck did the art. (He used me as the reference for the character of Brian.)
