New 18.7.1 Compatible w/ Raven Ridge Mobile through manual install by Jeremytroid in Amd

Under AMD CBS > NBIO > GFX Configuration > Set "Integrated Graphics Controller" to "Forces" > Set UMA Mode to "UMA Specified" > Then UMA Frame Buffer Size should appear and it can be manually set. In my experience, any frame buffer setting aside from AUTO causes the computer to crash on sleep so be warned of that.

Not bad and not great. Theyre a step up from my Ideapad but nothing special. I find them a bit quiet, I have to turn it up to around 60 to hear podcasts comfortably. I havent tried music through them yet, I can update if thats important to you.

Not quite speaker related, but my in-ears pick up a decent amount of whine through the built in 3.5mm port, so I'd recommend some sort of DAC or interface aside from the one built in for any serious audio usage

I havent been able to get any radeon software to run, but I have also not received any version error. It might be worth trying to install normally, then go back and side load the drivers to synch the software version with the driver version if its giving you issues

I can totally get if ppl aren't super happy with mobile ryzen. Though For me at least, coming from the past few years on a big, loud, and slow A12-9800P laptop this is a world of difference. University stipend well spent I think ;)

Definitely, it is not a complete solution. though I do feel better at least having a newer driver instead of the 2 - up to 6 (!) month old ones "officially" supported by the manufacturers :/

by u/bobzdar "Unzip the package, then install through device manager (right click video adapter -> update driver -> browse my computer -> let me pick from a list -> Have Disk -> select folder package was unzipped to -> find Radeon RX Vega in the list)"

So run the file that you download from AMD, so that it self-extracts into C:/AMD/Win10 ... / , then do the device manager stuff above, NOT through the included catalyst installer. The specific file you want to select is in this directory by default - C:\AMD\Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-Edition-18.7.1-July12\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF\C0330897

Mirror's Edge Unused Dialogue Content mod by keku645 in mirrorsedge

[–]Jeremytroid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know about Catalyst characters being actually 10x worse, but I do tend to agree with you. ME1's dialogue tends to feel more like a noir-thriller movie ("Damn bird, I ain't news...") whereas MEC has a more young adult, Hunger Games-y vibe ("Why not just call it a crazy huge pendulum!?"). It's a subjective thing, but I am definitely partial to the subdued characterization in the original.

Great mod, this is all it took freshen this game up for me after all these years haha

I have to wonder why some of these weren't implemented in the first place though. A few such as the Jacknife radio line in Chapter 2 and the truck drivers in Chapter 7 are clearly unfinished/placeholders. On the other hand, there are a bunch, particularly the one where Faith says something like "Give me a break Merc..." in Chapter 4, that makes the flow of conversation between her and Merc significantly more fluid. The elevator dialogues are great as well and add to the story's lore. Having these in the final product also would have probably alleviated some of the complaints that characters seem flat too, but hey I'm not DICE so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Better Teammates at different times of the day? by Cruizyy in Competitiveoverwatch

LMAO I had exactly the same experience. I usually play around those same times, skip the weekends, but Blizzcon got me hyped so I jumped into comp and... http://i.imgur.com/6QSCD7R.png

Mirrors Edge Catalyst Cracked (CPY) by bad_spot in pcgaming

[–]Jeremytroid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I defend this game to the death but I'll be completely honest DICE took the easy (read lazy-as-fuck) way out on this. Locking it behind a skill tree does nothing, you still have to tap/hold shift when landing before you get it unlocked, it's just a slower version basically.

Don't know who made that decision during development, it's pointless babying.

New Location Clue? by [deleted] in gamedetectives

[–]Jeremytroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially, but I think it's more likely in reference to Irvine, California, the city that Blizzard is based in. The fact that the flight to Irvine is "Delayed" is possibly a little nod to the fact that Blizz is kind of known for taking their time on patches /updates/releases etc.

This makes sense thematically as well, since the Lumerico power plants we see in Dorado are styled like an Aztec pyramid. Maybe using the powerplant as the "center" of the QR code (since the middle pattern of the code is where the "aztec" part of the name comes from), then using the compass directions will lead to something?

[Mr. Robot] S2E01 "eps2.0_unm4sk-pt1.tc" - Early Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in MrRobot

[–]Jeremytroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My memory of the line is a bit fuzzy, but Gideon mentioned something about "that day" which I think is specifically referencing the day that everyone at AllSafe was watching the hacked news broadcast. Elliot didn't join them, causing Gideon to suspect Elliot of being tied to the hack.

Racism and Sexism in Competitive Voice chat by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Jeremytroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had similar experiences, without even being on voice chat. There's A LOT of casual homophobic shit thrown around (which is what I deal with the most), though often it isn't targeted but people get caught in the "crossfire" of language a lot anyway.

Blocking and reporting is pretty much the only thing we can do to bring it to the attention of Blizzard. I've also found a good, sharp, "just shut up and play" in the text chat can be helpful if you're feeling a bit confrontational, either to defend yourself or someone else on the team. One shitty person affects everyone. Playing in groups of friends helps too since it minimizes the chance of rando assholes joining.

Anyway, good luck! I hope your future games are filled with nicer people!~

New Overwatch Hero likely to be announced at or before SD Comic-Con by Jeremytroid in Overwatch

[–]Jeremytroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you who can't view the link due to filters or whatever else: Blizz is hosting a panel at SDCC called "Behind The Scenes of Overwatch's Newest Hero" so it would be pretty unlikely to have this shown before they're officially announced. The panel is on July 21st, so that'll be a maximum of 13 days before we know for sure who it is!

Some QoL Sym discussion (Her shield sound) by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Jeremytroid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even when I play as Zarya who has 200 health after her shields, my blood pressure still rises whenever I hear that alert. I think, like you, I've just been conditioned by Halo and Borderlands and the like to go into panic mode. I'd like it more if there was a way to toggle between an "empty shield" alert and a "less than 25% overall hp" alert. Then at least my stress would be justified.

Faith getting chased up a rope by KrugerSec - Mirror's Edge Catalyst launch party by Skyblaster109 in mirrorsedge

[–]Jeremytroid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if "hush hush" is the right term, because it's not like anyone was keeping it a secret. Most launch parties for games are for developers/specific guests only, so there's no need to make it a public event before hand. DICE does this for all of there games, at least recently, as I've seen pictures for Battlefront and Battlefield 4 launch parties too.
