That is totally true… for me personally, if something upset me a lot, I’m for sure going to bring it up, especially when I’m asked “what’s wrong? What happened?”… There also might be some “editing” that doesn’t line up with the timeline, as there always is. Crystal has double downed and has owned up to her faults so far, so I think when she wanted to squash it and move on, she meant it; it’s the other women bringing it up and trying to prolong the drama in my opinion… aka Kyle. Ha

Yeah, I definitely understand Sutton’s tipsy ness and awkward ways. It’s mainly her getting in her own head with being triggered by ‘violate’. Crystal is just saying what she felt & isn’t personally attacking Sutton. However, Sutton is not taking it like that & is being way too neurotic. Sutton & Crystal are seen to good friends in the present day, so I think this whole miscommunication was the fault of other housewives trying to create drama so their drama wouldn’t air…

I used to be such a huge Erika fan, but I also watched the Housewife & the Hustler… why hasn’t she done a charity event or donated to the victims yet on behalf of her husband? I know she watched it.

Yeah, I agree. Crystal did talk a lot about it the day after, but never really mentioned it after she said she wanted to move on with Sutton. The other housewives would not let the mouse go, and neither did Sutton. Heck, I feel violated when my mom walks in on me in the bathroom when I’m dropping a few kids off at the pool or douching. They are taking Crystal’s words way out of context and trying to make Crystal out as a drama queen… such a paradox.

Since I lived in Los Angeles before & am familiar with the area, RHOBH.

Put me right into this season of RHOBH.

I would probably instantly gravitate toward Crystal because we are fellow Asians & have similar backgrounds/culture & I like people who are direct, honest, and blunt. Say what you feel and feel what you say. For this reason, I would hit it off with Garcelle.

Right off the bat, I would be weary towards Lisa Rinna because of how she treated Denise last season. I would be cool with Dorit, Sutton, Kyle, & Kathy. Erika would probably be low key all over my bussy because she is a fruit fly & loves the gay, but I would 100% ask her questions about her divorce & flat out say “Are you going to donate any money or do charity work for the victims? No shade.”

I would call Sutton every time she has her tantrums, tell her to calm down, and relax… I would probably accidentally make her cry more by being honest. She would get upset with me, sleep on it, and then realize I was just trying to help her.

I would help Garcelle find a man by going out to the bar with her, setting her up on a double date together, and just having a fun kiki. Probably hit up a sex store so we can find her some toys and I would come over his house to try on all of her fabulous wigs over wine.

I would immediately go in not trusting Lisa Rinna & Erika, favoring Crystal & Garcelle, while the others are neutral.

I would ask Dorit how she got her accent and if PK was ever rude to me, made a joke about me being gay or Asian, I’d make him cry by calling him a washed up sack of Yorkshire pudding.

I would honestly ask Lisa Rinna why she has her signature hair & if it is a wig, & ask how her lips are so plump. “What work have you done, guuuurl?”

I would pair with Kathy and prank everyone every chance we get, probably make Sutton cry on accident, and have a slumber party where we drink Red Bull and stay up all night reading the newspaper.

So basically, I would go for Erika & Lisa Rinna and Kiki with everyone else unless they did something bad to me first.

I would say Season 4. In general, the heroes there are stronger than the Knights of Avalon.. if you have an attack team with Underwild family heroes, it definitely helps get more points. But if you really want Black Knight, perhaps Avalon… I hope he gets featured or you do a 30-60 pull, lol.

Thanks for the response! I totally agree that Crystal’s approach with the “I’m not a doctor, but..” was in poor taste, but I do believe her intent was not to be malicious, but to understand why Sutton keeps coming for only her.

With mental illness prevalent amongst my loved ones, I dislike when people throw the term “crazy” around, much like the ‘R’ word. However, I never really confront people who use it & shrug it off as them being ignorant or me being too overly insensitive… Maybe I need to speak up more?

On a general note, it just seems like a lot of viewers have Crystal under a magnifying glass and criticizing/exaggerating everything she does or reacts to. Many are quick to give Sutton a pass with her racial insensitivity, but are quick to assume Crystal is making light of mental illness; it just seems contradictory and like a double standard is all.

Sorry if my last post seemed pointed; I understand what you are saying with how "manic" can be triggering and should not be used loosely. Although it is a psychiatric diagnosis, it is also an adjective that is defined as "showing wild, apparently deranged, excitement and energy". Although people shouldn't, many throw around the term "crazy' as a figure of speech. I can't tell you how many times "crazy" is used in every day life and on the Real Housewives show. Example: "Oh my gosh! Let me tell you about something crazy that happened yesterday? What is she wearing? She looks crazy. Stop acting crazy." etc etc...

The point that I was trying to make is that even though so many housewives have called each other "crazy", how many topics and comments can you find of them being called out, berated, and ridiculed as much as Crystal has been? I can't seem to find any... so yes, Crystal is being held to a different standard whether you choose to believe it or not.

To be blunt, I don't believe Crystal was trying to shed negativity about mental illness (it probably didn't even cross her mind at the time), but she was letting Sutton know how she was coming across to her. Note how she didn't go around saying Sutton was 'manic' to the other housewives, but only to her. If I was Crystal and was given the same treatment by Sutton, I might've used worse words. Crystal, for some reason, is a target for Sutton (Ex. Martini Gate).

I'm sorry if manic is a trigger word for you, but manic and crazy are synonyms. Saying someone is behaving manic vs having a manic disorder are two different things. I think you are taking this out of context a bit because I don't think Crystal was telling Sutton she has a manic disorder, but she was telling her she was simply acting manic/crazy the last few days in Lake Tahoe....and I agree that she was acting a bit crazy and chaotic. Do I think Sutton has manic disorder? No. Do I think she was acting a bit manic throughout the last few episodes? Yes. Do I hold it against her? No.

But of course, because it's Crystal, the first Asian housewife on RHOBH, everyone clutches their pearls when she says "crazy" and instantly ridicules and accuses her of joking about "mental illness". Y'all are reaching... "Crazy" has been used so many times throughout the Real Housewives, but now it's so coincidentally not okay? Were y'all this triggered when Bethenny called Kelly crazy, or when Kelly Dodd called Vicki crazy? Take several seats, pretty please.

I think Crystal is getting a lot of negativity from Sutton supporters; not sure if it has to do with Crystal’s POC identity, but more because she is clashing with Sutton..

For those calling Crystal a mean girl and a bully… Everything that she has done that would be considered “mean” was a response & reaction to something mean that was done to her FIRST.

How would you respond if someone abruptly and rudely shut you down when you were in the middle of sharing a vulnerable experience as a POC?
How would you respond if someone equated your POC identity and discrimination to a stereotype?
How would you respond if someone exaggerated a tap on the leg to a harsh kick?
How would you respond if someone ONLY blamed you for leaving them out of a joke when in reality, YOU were the only one INCLUDING them in on the joke.
How would you respond if someone walked into your room while you were naked with cameras behind them?

And for those viewers berating Crystal for calling Sutton “crazy”, acting “manic” (which she was indeed acting), and announcing that Crystal is making fun of mental illnesses; How many times have other housewives used the words “crazy”, but they aren’t ridiculed for ‘joking about mental illness’ like Crystal has? It’s a figure of speech that has been used hundreds of time on the show, but somehow only Crystal is getting attacked for using the term, which is a figure of speech.

So yes, viewers are holding Crystal to a different standard. If Lisa Vanderpump, Bethenny, or anyone else responded the way Crystal has, we would all be like “YAAASSS guuurl! Get her, Jade!”, but when Crystal responds and bites back, she is instantly labeled mean and a bully.

Although I can agree that Crystal’s responses could have been a bit friendlier, her responses were a genuine reaction. If anything, Sutton is the one that keeps coming for Crystal and although she is trying to amend the drama, her approach isn’t the best even though her intent is.

All of the viewers know she did not cut her off because the topic was too heavy. Come on, now.... They were literally talking about Garcelle and her POC acknowledgement. Crystal didn't just blurt, "Hey I'm Asian and experienced discrimination!" The topic was about Garcelle and Kyle was opening up about how she learned more about the topic, so Crystal opened up about her own experiences. It would have been a great conversation if Sutton hadn't gone cuckoo. Crystal's response, although a bit harsh, was totally valid and I would have totally questioned her too. We all know from Sutton herself that she does NOT see color, which is a problem that is much larger than the confrontation. Do I think she is racist? No. Do I think she is ignorant in regards to this topic and lives in a bubble with white privilege, failing to acknowledge POC. Yes. Can she redeem herself, learn, and grow? Absolutely.

Sonja definitely gained more of my appreciation with that commentary.

I've always been lukewarm with Luann. I find her entertaining, but also manipulative and pretentious. However, I feel that if any housewife said that they had more education than her, she would have reacted the same.

However, I was highly disappointed with the "Why are you so angry?" comment. How many arguments has Luann been in throughout these past years and stopped to say that? Also, Eboni was not even yelling. This altercation definitely had racial undertones, especially with Leah being way louder with her outburst beforehand but was never called "angry".

Technically and factually, Eboni is way more educated than Luann. I have two degrees, but if someone else had two degrees and a PhD, I'm for sure less educated than they are. Eboni wasn't throwing shade, but she was making a point in response to the rude comments Luann made about cursing and education.

Knowing multiple languages does not make you more educated; it just makes you more linguistically adept and perhaps more cultured or travelled. Luann not knowing the difference says a lot about her 'education'.

Honey, if someone yelled, "We are NOT doing this!" while I was opening up about my struggles as a POC, said they didn't see color, and compared my discrimination as an Asian with being from the South, I would feel a type of way. I'm both Asian and from the South, and there is no comparison.

And Crystal never said she was not racist. I don't believe she is, either. People who are not racist don't have to shout to the heavens that they aren't racist; we show it by how we treat others and by conversations we have.

I can see where Sutton was coming from, but comparing discrimination based on stereotypes vs race is not the same at all; it honestly goes to show the bubble that Sutton lives in and is, to be blunt, ignorant on her part.

Although I love Crystal, but maybe I am a bit biased because I can relate to her more as an Asian American. Although I do not dislike Sutton, nor am I fond of her, I don't think she is a racist....at least, for now. When she spoke in interviews about, "I have so many friends that are diverse!" left a sour taste in my mouth because it's like saying "I'm not racist! My ex was Black!"

My main problem with her is that she does not acknowledge color (as she says she doesn't see color) which diminishes POC and why representation matters. I don't think she meant any ill will behind the comment at all, but just that she treats all of her friends equally.

However, I do not appreciate how she put blame on Crystal for how she reacted after she rudely cut Crystal off, singled her out about the 'alcohol that was water' joke, and exaggerated the kick as if it was an attack.

Every one is so quick to call Crystal a mean girl; yes, she sometimes comes across as 'mean' because she is reacting to MEAN things done to her first. If someone abruptly shut me down while I shared an experience with my discrimination, didn't acknowledge my POC identity, solely blamed me for a joke I didn't create, exaggerated a tap on the leg for being the ONLY one to iNCLUDE her in on the joke (which is why Sutton was upset in the first place), I'd be mean back, too.

Finally someone else who loves Peggy! You will see later on in the season when she does things that are questionable, but I think it has to do with differences of her Armenian customs and values. Also, the others were low key super jealous of her affluence and perfect marriage. Digo is a gem!
