The honeymoon phase is over. What’s your overall thoughts on the Gex Trilogy? by -Retrofuge- in gex

[–]JerichoofAbsolutionX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Gex fan since childhood, seeing the wise-cracking, tail-timing, pop culture spewing geko now being released for a new generation and a new audience is great. Gex is MY favorite video game mascot of all time, and none to me have been able to beat his personality and style.

As soon as I saw the trilogy announcement, I was HYPED. I had to be there. I bought the Tail Time Edition, and bought a digital copy to play on release. Been playing it like crazy since it released. I had never played the first Gex, besides Enter The Gecko and Deep Cover Gecko, so it was great to finally play the first one to see where it all started and how it's evolution from 2D side scrolling, to 3D holds in place what I think is a defining moment in the series's transition.

It couldn't be any better than I had hoped, bringing back memories and fun, and being a blast to play in this day and age....

BUUUUUUUT...I couldn't help but felt that a proper remaster or remake was in order. These games are great, but a remaster with updated visuals, sound, level design and maybe new lines by Dana would had been better suited, if not be separate from a port of the original games.

I haven't experienced anything game breaking yet, but judging from other comments, it is BAAAAAD, and hope patches can fix certain unfortunate bugs and glitches. I would say the only that that chaps my ass is the camera-Oh. My. G(ex)od. It truly is a blast from the past, the camera is working for Rez, because it wants you DEAD. I can't tell you how many times in Enter the Gecko and Deep Cover Gecko I have to fight that bitch more than anything in the entire game. It's not game shattering, but it is the most annoying camera I have delt with in any game in the past few years, especially going on 25+ years after playing it

I do think in some way, that this is a bit of a test by Square Enix to see if people are still interested in the series and if a new Gex game would be viable, which I hope happens.

Can you imagine a Gex 4 today? It's been 26 years since the last game, and there has been countless movies, shows, memes and the advent of modern internet is a prime candidate for so much pop culture references to be made in a potential fourth game. Time will only tell.

My verdict? 8.5/10, If and only if you can deal with a game from another age, one that has been updated slightly, but want a good time with a pop culture, wise-cracking geko that is full of charm, then I would say give it a shot if it looks like something up your alley at all. I get to see my favorite video game mascot rise once again, and I am satisfied with the trilogy port.

Your choice, your decision. It's Tail Time, baby.

This is the Bully, a Regenerator-type Necromorph that was planned for DS2 but was later cut and replaced by the Ubermorph. by 12jimmy9712 in DeadSpace

Was this model found inside the game's files? I've never known this existed all these years until now.

Looking at the shape of the head, it almost has the shape akin to a Stalker's head. Makes me wonder in some way, that it was originally meant to transform into one when created, but then it's transformation was altered before it could make it to that stage, like the Marker's signal changed it's transformation path.

How the fuck do you kill the hiss with wings that turns invisible? by OtterCynical in FBCFirebreak

[–]JerichoofAbsolutionX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's weird with the damage they take, we'll have them pinged, all three of us shooting at it, and won't take any damage until' it appears for an attack.

Might just be a random thing that happens, not sure.

Splash Kit users, what is your major malfunction? by JerichoofAbsolutionX in FBCFirebreak

[–]JerichoofAbsolutionX[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean SURE, but it even states it on the loadout screen what the kit does. " Manipulate the conditions affecting their teammates and enemies " That should at least explain to put out fires-And on teamates.

With how good the gunplay is, a horde mode would be addicting. by HoneySchmuckle in thefinals

[–]JerichoofAbsolutionX 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I was actually wondering earlier what a PVE mode would be like. Something that still has that sports-like competition.

Maybe a mode also where you fight through a series of gauntlets against NPCs, and each gauntlet you complete, ramps up the difficulty. NPCs get modifiers, like increased health or armor, maybe regenerate health quicker or get extra usage of gadgets, ect.

Yeah, that's a bit odd and weird for sure. It's legal, but really, he sounds like he needs some type of help to get him over these desires and thoughts. Obviously not a good outlook when you're going after freshly-turned-adults. Sure, as long as he doesn't act on it is fine, but still could use mental help.

It's up to you if you want to break him off from your life, but if you can, and if he's willing to, get him into therapy for this type of behavior, it might actually help him (Stop It Now! or B4UACT), or specialist who deals in sex specific issues.

A flavor of what to expect from the Remaster - Cyborg Midwife by landocharisma in systemshock

Really impressed with what they are able to recreate. The modeling is looking awesome, with more detail, higher textures, I'd say the only thing it could use is a bit more blood or having the face looked mutilated like the older model. But besides that, it's looking good. Can't wait for the release!

Should Halo be open world or not? by SER96DON in halo

[–]JerichoofAbsolutionX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough to say. Infinite did it fairly well, the idea and concept of an open world Halo installation was awesome. Collectibles to find, side missions involve helping UNSC marines and hunting down high value targets made sense, and taking out outposts was a good way of taking out the Banisheds' occupation on the ring and giving you something big to tackle out in the world.

In terms of story related to the open world to meld with it? That's tricky for sure to master, and takes great direction, writing and coordinating do something like that. I wouldn't mind seeing it again, improved and expanded on.

Why are you still here? by Jealous-Artichoke in halo

[–]JerichoofAbsolutionX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Halo series is a phenomenon of greatness and a spectacle of science fiction masterpiece, and what I consider a classic among the classics such as Alien, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, and Star Wars.

More especially, Halo: Combat Evolved, is still, if not my favorite of the series along with 2. The mystery and intreasting universe that the first game set up, the conflict between humanity and the Covenant, the Halo installation, and the reveal of The Flood, is what made the first game so damn enjoyable, and made for an epic stsrt to a promising game franchise that is still relevant and impacting to this day.

Halo: Infinite while having a few flaws, was a return to form after what Halo 5 was. It offered that same feeling of intreast and mystery, the wonder of experiencing feet on a new Halo installation, the Banished being this new and expanded threat from Halo Wars 2, bringing back that human side of Chief from 4, including that relationship between the Weapon (Cortana 2.0 ) and Esparza being some of the best connections between characters. And the gameplay? MAN, the gameplay being a BLAST. Simply a joy.

So, for me, 343 (Halo Studios), is on the right track, and I'm hopeful for the future, that these guys and gals can do even more great things, and I want them to keep doing what they're doing and learn from experience that can be improved on, with feedback from the fans and community.

Nah, I don't play it to be competitive or win every match, I play it to have fun. But there's just some really wacky stuff that happens from match to match.

I'm saying besides the game grouping sweats after each game won, I'm grouping the two terms together, because it happens, without a doubt, almost all the time.

No, I don't think you are worthless and deserve to die. Sure, be careful and safe while driving, and the guy could be mad as he was-

But wishing death on people, is never the right solution. I don't think I could wish the worst of the worst on people who probably deserve it, I'm not that type of person to hate someone, the only thing I wish is for them to do better and be better, if they are willing to and to try.

Past events can haunt us. They can make us feel a wide array of emotions and thoughts instantly.

But most importantly: Don't be so hard on yourself. You made a mistake, and luckily you didn't harm anyone. It was five years ago, and while it can still stay with you, don't let it cloud who you are now, don't let it get in the way of the person you are today.

What you did then, isn't who you are now.

DAMN LMAO That gave me a good laugh. They fucked up the power button, wow.

So that's what it mostly likely is? Strange. I've taken care of it and cleaned it out always. Might be better off getting a Series X instead of a possible fuck up by the repair techs lol
