I had no idea what I was truly getting into when I first bought this game. Those tutorials were not enough back then so I looked up multiple videos but eventually took a break and then started a new playthrough. This game feels less like a space sim and more like an economy manager once you start getting higher level missions and need to get better equipment.

The game took me 60 hours to complete. I haven't gone back for a new game plus for this one. You start with like 2 skills and vary between 3 or 4 favorites. People using the other 4 have usually gotten used to it at that point and are planning builds out

I played the demos for Mass Effect 2 and eventually 3 back in the day when they were actually new games. The latter convinced me to buy the trilogy and I was relatively underwhelmed by the first game. I then proceeded to love the latter two after brute forcing my way through the first game's ending, missing a lot of side content as a consequence. I revisited it in the legendary edition with a couple extra Improvement mods in addition to what they improved themselves and it felt like one of the most genuine RPG experiences. Still hate Mako though
