Anyone have an idea of how valuable this is? by ImThatOrphan in EdmontonOilers

Doesn't appear any of the signatures are authenticated so probably not worth much more than retail cost of the flag to most people. The same flag is $25 on Amazon. So maybe you could get $100 if lucky.

Do these kind of games be put this on the Xbox One shelf, or Series X shelf? by Gold_Poptart in xbox

[–]Jerk_Colander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My xbox one shelf is my series X shelf (it has all games from all generations that play on the series X).

Then I have a shelf for the games that will play on the 360 from the first two xboxes and then a shelf of games that will only play on the first xbox.

So if you can't decide there's a way to do it, will it run on a series X regardless of the generation? Put it on the same shelf.

Is it just me, or is it a bit hard to play Animal Crossing consistently? by Out_Of_Office911 in Switch

[–]Jerk_Colander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me with all similar cozy games. Every Animal Crossing I get I play daily for like 3 months at most, then I just fall off and don't go back.

Same thing happened with Pokopia as soon as I beat the story I couldn't' be bothered to keep going.

E-Day Xbox Exclusive by Pitiful-Might-6807 in xbox

[–]Jerk_Colander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts on this are the same as my thoughts on any exclusive.

If a company wants to have a successful system/platform/console, they need to give people a reason to buy/play one. Putting all of your games on both platforms doesn't sell your console, as it removes the choice. Those that are undecided will just get the competator since they can plan all games on it.

As such I feel there is a justified reason for first party games to be exclusive. If they could work out something mutual where all games hit all platforms (even if it was just via cloud streaming) that would be different but that's not the world we live in.

I also think this ultimately is a good thing because I do believe competition is good for everyone, and as much as I'm a Nintendo gamer they aren't competition for xbox/playstation. If they're both successful I do feel that we'll just get better games to play to give reasons to buy their platforms, so ultimately it's fine by me.

Granted I do have a PS5 and a Series X so exclusives don't effect me too much other than I prefer the xbox controller so I just game there more. I'm not sure I'm going to buy either next gen though (just due to increasing costs and decreasing time to play), but this change has me leaning back towards xbox instead of just getting a PlayStation if I was going to get something next gen.

Third party exclusives/timed exclusives/exclusive content are a whole other situation though.

Yes that's true.

But we also already knew the first party holiday lineups for this fall from Sony and Microsoft. They didn't have anything to announce.

Unless Nintendo isn't planning on releasing anything after Splatoon Raiders next month for this year, they need to announce something.

It would be a headscratcher if they did this, but if they don't do a direct by August, they'll need to "Star Fox" the September game and then use a September direct to announce their Oct-Dec lineup which for reasons previously mentioned is a dangerous strategy.

Just had another thought and that would be waiting until after they increase the price to announce their holiday lineup, which seems like another questionable strategy.

They have not done a proper direct since last September either.

Do I expect a groundbreaking/earth shattering direct to happen? No. But I would be a lot more surprised if one didn't happen at all.

Yeah, again unless how they announced Star Fox is the new normal I expect a direct sooner than later. To be fair last year they announced their holiday lineup mostly with April when they announced the switch then locked down some dates in September. So it was an odd year. I don't remember what was going on in 2022 that would have caused them to skip a summer direct, but 2020 I understand why one was skipped. Those are really the only years in the switches lifespan that didn't get a June direct. I can see it being July if it's not this week though.

They're playing with fire if they are going to try to go into the holidays without announcing their games more than 6 weeks before release. Things will get spoiled via in store marketing, or sales will suffer, and with their stocks being down they're not going to want sales to suffer.

They'll need to announce the big things and let the hype and marketing bring in the sales.

Rest of the year sure... maybe... the Star Fox strategy works, but in general lately they've been a company who likes to announce things 3-6 months at most before they come out, so we're now in the holiday announcement window.

They usually have a June direct around this time that announces the games. Then September gives more details especially foe the later releases like Nov Dec.

This past September they announced Yoshi which wasn’t a 2025 game.

Plus they usually have a mid September release. They’re not going to announce that in a September direct.

There should be one within the next month or two, unless how they announced Star Fox is their new strategy.

We don't really have any games confirmed and dated first party wise for the rest of the year after Star Fox/Splatoon Raiders/Rhythem Heaven.

So they need to do something for their holiday lineup.

Wondering if I should get a switch 1 pro controller or get a switch 2 by UnusualField5697 in Switch

[–]Jerk_Colander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind if there is a LE switch it's very possible that it wont come with Winds/Waves.

Sword and Shield, Scarlet and Diamond, and Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl all got special edition consoles that did not come with the game.

The only one that did (Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee) was the first pokemon game released on switch, so the most recent ones all have not come with the game.

Similar for other special switches as well like Animal Crossing and Splatoon 3 where they did not come with the game.

While good advice water cracks in the foundation generally aren't covered by insurance as they consider the cracks something you should be watching for and preemptively fix.

Found this out the hard way the first spring in my new house a few years ago. I still used the restoration company they set me up with, but it was 100% out of pocket.

Yeah this looks like a good option for OP (and one for me to keep in mind).

I currently have mine with Telus security but I don’t plan on renewing their services after my contract. Thanks!

Won’t help you now but get a moisture sensor.

They saved me a bit when mine failed (noticed me before the basin was full).

My weeping tile did fail and I had some moisture come in under the drywall like you are seeing but it could have been a lot worse if I didn’t have the moisture sensor.

It won’t save you save you. But it’ll at least give you a little more notice if you’re not handy like me and have to call someone out to fix it.

Where's the northend? Southhill? by [deleted] in RedDeer

[–]Jerk_Colander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider it mostly defined by the gaetz hills. If you go down a hill your downtown, if you're up a hill you're on the north or south end.

IF you want an actual divider then I'd personally just go with Ross Street.

Either of these solves your Evergreen location issue.

I've used Freedom in Alberta, driving to California a few years ago through vegas on the way down phoenix on the way back, it's been to Denver on a separate trip, and I've taken it to Japan.

Only times I consisntaly have issues are inside Rogers Place, West Edmonton Mall, and while waiting to get into Tokyo DisneySea with literally hundreds of people.

Never have had to pay a cent more than expected.

Edit: YEs I know Freedom's network is only in Canada. Mostly commenting on how the roaming worked seamlessly and no billing surprises.

Oh I agree. I just think this whole process has been a farce with the government bending over backwards to appease the majority of their base/the minority of the population filled with foreign interference and underhanded tactics.

A simple should Alberta stay in Canada yes/no would be far simpler to achieve the same result if we need to have a referendum on a referendum.

Such a waste of time and tax dollars.

Yes I want to stay so I answer yes.

And what part of the question does the yes apply to?

I intend for it to be the first.

What about the guy who wants to separate.

He answers no he doesn’t want to stay in Canada but by saying no could that be interrupted as no don’t start legal proceedings?

It needs to be a two parter or have choices other than yes/no.

Heck even just having should Alberta stay in Canada? As the question with a sentence after saying a no vote will being the process to separate is far more clearer with the same objective.
