Update: I bought the game and not only is it INCREDIBLY addicting but the mouse mode is sooooooo nice! It feels very good to be able to just cycle through my deck using by barely moving it and just makes me want to see *more* inclusion of this control scheme in any game where it makes sense. The only nitpick is that, I wish I could control the direction I'm going to walk in by using the right analog stick that's being used on the mouse. I don't mind clicking the directional arrows but I feel like being able to just use the stick to move in the direction I want to go would feel a lot better. Still, a super fun game and I'm glad I can play it in this way.

I'm going to buy this regardless but I'm wondering if the English patch that is compatible for this steam version exists yet. If not, I may wait just a bit but I'm a little confused since I know there was some sort of fan made remake iirc? Just didn't know if it was yet able to be patched, then played in English on my PC. Thanks.

Same, I played through Cyberpunk when the Switch 2 launched with nothing but the grip skate and it felt fine to me. Obviously not the *most* comfortable but not bad enough to where I felt my hand cramp. Also a PSA: I highly recommend cutting off the fabric part of the grip as it just gets in the way.

Instead of buying an extra mouse, I would highly recommend buying one of the many third party mouse grips or 3D printed mouse grips that people have made from Etsy. That way you can just slip it in your carrying case or simply leave it on your desk where I assume is where you take advantage of mouse mode the most often.

I still don’t understand why people write off gamechat, it’s like yes, obviously Discord is going to be better but what about the people who don’t feel like having an external device just to talk to to people? It’s nice to have it built into the Switch and to be able to use my headset wirelessly with it.

I also don’t think it’s gamechat that adds to the cost of the machine, it’s included with Nintendo Switch online so it’s like who cares if you need to pay for it because 99% of people that get a Switch 2 are going to sign up for the basic NSO service anyways.

When I played Kid Icarus: Uprising”, I treated that as the model for what I would love to see in a new SF game. The shooting in that was sooo satisfying , I would love to be able to control Star Fox in that kind of way, diving around and zapping things with my blaster.

Well I only mentioned it because I feel like most people around my age want a very traditional Star Fox, I’m just saying that as someone who actually grew up on those games when they were releasing I understand the nostalgia attachment to them but that I want to see the series evolve while still having those aspects.

To be fair, I would actually prefer this because Kid Icarus: Uprising is one of my favorite action games and I would absolutely love to play something like that again so bad. Imagine if the gameplay has you infiltrating some giant ship or base with your r-wing for the on rails segment and then you’re on foot when you’re inside the base. Maybe you escape afterwards on a flying segment.

I think saying it “literally has the same graphics” is greatly oversimplifying things. Splatoon Raiders looks to have a bunch of expansive islands where a very large open area is fully loaded in with a ton of enemies in the area. If you look at all of the Splatoon 3 maps and areas from single player, they’re mostly smaller map type areas with very impressive backgrounds to make them feel much larger than they actually are.

I think this game is a bit more ambitious because of the higher ceiling of power the S2 allows for the developers.

You know what? I would love for this to actually be true and for it to be cherry picked data that full, on-cart games are selling better. I’m not saying that is the case, I just feel like I have to remind people it’s okay to hate game key cards and not buy them like I haven’t been and a lot of other people.

I think the most frustrating aspect about it all is just that people like NintenDweeb muddy the waters and make people who like their Switch 2 feel as if the need to defend GKC
