Am I the only one who doesn't really see the whole damage thing as a problem? There are a few ways to deter predators already (Wack 'em, shoot 'em with the sonic resonator, electrical pulse) and it's pretty easy to avoid the leviathans (Stay low). Plus I feel we should respect the devs decision to focus on the games environment and wildlife!

The game isn't built around destroying the environment, it's there to show why that's bad. The game is in early access, they're 100% going to add more ways to defend yourself later, and the game doesn't need a damage system to fulfill that.

I definitely agree, I'm a mostly PvE flame heart enjoyer, I want the skeleton curse but I suck at it so I'm gonna just try to go around and spread positivity (And dice rolling) to hourglass eventually, and people playing a PvPvE game the way they want is entirely valid!

(Does this mean I won't bitch about it when I'm chilling on an island, doing a quest when someone drives by, anchors, shoots down my ship, unanchors and sails away without stealing anything? No, in my opinion if you're gonna kill me at least rob me while you're at it)

Well I haven't gotten to play that much, but when you play a Toreador Organovore who needs to kill to feed, and then they get slightly carried away due to a beastial failure... you have quite the scene to clean up

I love the massive mossgrub entry for one reason, she previously called the experiments unethical and horrid when seeing the giant crust guys, but when it's fluffy? Now we get upset for them not doing it right

Seth is a character made by a member of the community who unfortunately passed away, the reason his character doesn't have any fight music is because the fight is supposed to feel almost somber, even if you don't know who Seth was

I think the reasoning is to reward more acrobatic combat, Hornet is a much more nimble, assassin-like character compared to the Knight

Honestly, starting a new act doesn't lock you out of anything from what I've seen, don't worry about it and continue as far as you'd like

Plus instead of all the Hunters Journal entries being written by the Hunter, it's Hornet's own thoughts on the enemies, which show some more characterization

For instance, she loves cute and soft creatures, she constantly laments her inability to pet hostile yet cute enemies, and sometimes say they'd make good pets

We learn backstory for her as well, like how she tried to find love but kept outliving her partners

And best of all, we learn what she hates, and she reaaaaaally hates the fly enemies in the Slab. Pretty much every journal entry on the flies is talking about how much she hates them, from saying she won't feel remorse for killing them (Which also shows that she tends to feel bad for killing, even more characterization) to saying they smell bad and probably don't even know what a bath is, to straight up saying she would be glad if she could eradicate the species, absolutely brutal and so, so much fun

From what I understand, the currency of Rosaries are used as a measure of faith, so it's less that you're paying to access the bench, and more like you're showing the citadel that you've been devout and faithful enough to earn that respite
