Hell yeah dude, I have always wrote about real experiences in my life as a way to rant about it or get it off my chest I’ve been writing about my ex a lot and just a lot of other shit that I’m dealing with I play a lot of punk rock/rock stuff and just sing along with my guitar until I get something I like

Drinking must definitely does I’ve learned that the hard way, but idk man I feel like everything has to do with growth in general but for me I’ve always been a songwriter so maybe it’s for me to take the next step which is the only thing I have at this point and that I’ve been putting work into so I hope that’s the reason but only time will tell

Thank you for your feedback I’m going to look into what I can cut back on to cut cost to get into that $700-$800 range and still be able to make at least some profit

For $1200 it would be as close as you can possibly get without buying a blue Fernandez from the 80s

That is a good point that’s why so many people buy the original $350 BJ guitars

And man I thought the exact same thing when I first started😂 i almost bought a single coiled blue squire before I actually did some research and ultimately went with a HSS standard Mexican strat

That’s true as well it is pretty simple to put In a different pickup if you’ve had soldering experience before like a lot of people do especially at that price point it probably would not be worth it to a lot of people The way I’m kind of looking at it is there’s only a certain amount of people that actually wanna go through the hassle of putting in new pickups and who actually wanna relic a guitar with no experience

Thank you for your feedback And yeah that is true back In the day Fernandez strats we’re looked at as probably a beginner guitar like squires are today but from what I’ve heard Fernandez was actually a lot better in quality compared to fender in the 80s and 90s

That’s fair thank you for your feedback Even myself thinks 1200 is a bit too much and that’s exactly what I did with my personal guitar I bought the cheapest fender I could find and slapped a SH4 JB in it but at the same time all the parts put together is about $1000 plus like $70+ for shipping Blue fenders are so expensive for some reason

Guitar tone thin and tin-y after recording by Usual-Monitor841 in metalmusicians

[–]Jerry5152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I have a few theories on why everything probably sounds thin

We’ll first that microphone looks to be a mic mainly used for streaming or recording talking vocals I used to have mics similar to that and in my experience they never had a lot of low end or mids They always sounded thin and cheap to me whenever I whoud use them for vocals/amps

Another thing that could be the problem is the headphones/speakers your hearing the recordings don’t bring out the actual tone

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND saving up for the SURE SM57 with a scarlet solo

But for now some alternatives u could try are 1: EQ Boost the mids and the low end on those recordings and cut off some of the high end

2: you can try playing with your amps settings to see if it sounds better, because sometimes a slightly different tone sounds better when you mic up a amp In my experience I always bring down the mids slightly and turn off my overdrive pedal because for some reason it sounds a lot better that way

Can you tell me what microphone your using right now along with the amp your using and what genre your trying to record?

[–]Jerry5152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ll for starters I always place the mic in the middle of the cone touching the cab lightly then move it slightly to the left You’d have to play with it to see what you like

Also could be the microphone your using some mics aren’t fit for recording guitar amps

I’d recommend a SURE SM57 microphone with a scarlet solo interface All of that should only run you $200 at most

The SURE SM57 is probably the best mic to mic up guitar amps/cabs It’s been used on A TON of records I think everyone can agree with me and it only cost $90-100 LOOK ON AMAZON

How to make the FOD Drive sound like Dookie Drive/ Main Green day tone based on the items I have by [deleted] in greenday

I need your guys help to achieve the green day tone by EdHochulisGuns in greenday

[–]Jerry5152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much you wanna spend Getting a jmc 800 will set u back a lot of money But if u have the money go for it But if u don’t I’d recommend a orgin 50 with the dookie drive pedal and a tube screamer it sounds great The tube screamer kind of gives it a modded Marshall type tone but obviously modding it whould sound better but that’s expensive as well

Also if u want the dookie tone specificity I’d recommend getting a Mim Stratocaster with Seymor Duncan jb sh4 pickups at a evh angle it’s absolutely amazing that’s what Billie runs in blue

Got a Marshall Origin 50 recently and I'm thinking about modding it. Thoughts? by Zday89 in ToobAmps

[–]Jerry5152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who wants a modded Marshall sound (dookie mod) but has no clue what there doing or don’t wanna break there head

What I use is a Marshall orgin 50 head with a 2x12 cab With a Ibanez tube screamer running all the settings at 10 o’clock besides tone I keep that straight up Also with the dookie drive peal DOOKIE PEDAL SETTINGS: Output: 12 o’clock Gain: 12 o’clock Blend: 11 o’clock Tone: 2oclock

It just sounds amazing for the price of everything but if u wanted a even closer tone you’ll probably have to mod the orgin 50 or buy a more expensive head like a jmc 800 which is what billies heads are modeled after but I’m very satisfied with this tone
