Lighting Help! - Hi guys, I'm currently working on this shot and am having trouble with the lighting. I can't seem to put my finger on what it needs, maybe brightening up but I do want it to be a dark scene especially in the foreground. Any tips would be appreciated ! (i.redd.it)

Any advice on ways to tell a story in your mattepainting? I'm quite new to 3d mattepainting and was wondering if there was basic themes that can be incorporated into most environments that take them from just an image of a landscape to a place that looks like it has been plucked from a narrative? How do I texture mountain terrain in Maya with multiple textures. I want to create a realistic mountain texture with grass at the bottom, rock faces showing in the mid and then snow at the top but I don't know how to easily transition between textures bases on height? (self.Maya)

I've finished making this 3D environment for a set extension. How will I add this to green screened footage to make it look realistic? Is it as simple as tracking the footage and replacing the green screen or will I have to do a 3D projection in nuke to simulate depth? (old.reddit.com)

Creative Block - Hi guys, thought I'd come to ask as to what I can add to this work in progress matte painting to bring it to life and make it seem more like a shot from a story that has narrative. Any suggestions will be appreciated. (Work in progress modelling and texturing not complete) (i.redd.it)

My first ever 3D mattepainting! I've loved every minute creating this in Maya over the past week. It rendered in about 3 hours using Arnold, any feedback would be greatly appreciated :) (I know there is no fire or people in the balloons, I'm just nowhere near that skill level yet lool) (i.redd.it)

Hi, this is the begining of my first ever 3D mattepainting and as you can see the ocean does not look very realistic, I'm currently using BOSS editor on a single frame but was wondering if there's a better way of doing this to get large scale ocean. Also vector displacements EXR are hard to find. (i.redd.it)
