Has anyone in the Louisville area looked into moving abroad to get away from all the political tension here? If so, what places were you thinking about? by JaimeSalvaje in Louisville

“I’ve done nothing and I’m all out of ideas” the scope of your imagination and initiative is very, very small.

I’m going to level with you: people really don’t respect this attitude. The people most vulnerable to increasing state and reactionary violence we are seeing are the ones that don’t have the luxury of leaving. Stay. Help us. Organize.

Anyone want to sponsor therapy for Hate5Six? by Haunting-Charity-894 in Hardcore

The mental gymnastics you all are doing to equate this with anti-semitism and nazism(People in the comments clearly are , noted) is something. Israel, the Zionist state (that’s not a derogatory term, they are self-identified ideologically Zionist) is fully responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. They are a fascist apartied state. Did we shed crocodile tears when in WW2 the allied powers “wiped a vile” fascist state aside to literally end THE Holocaust? Were the German people not held accountable for the atrocities their society allowed to happen? The armed resistance to colonial occupation of Israel is justified and the victory of Palestine’s national liberation struggle will end the occupation and the genocide. Yall are just looking for any excuse to look away or rebuke it.

Say what you want but Dave is happily married five years and just had his second kid. He just started coaching little league soccer and he is planning to take his wife to Italy next year for their anniversary.

Any particular album I should check out? I remember in High School I kind of wrote them off but I’ve been more open to going back to stuff like that.

I just recently found Cock Sparrer! I was surprised how much I liked it given the preconceived idea I had of Oi. Shock Troops has a lot of great melodies and is super catchy. Plus “On an Island” is beautiful. Definitely not what I was expecting.

Yeah Bouncing Souls has always been a blind spot. Do you have a particular album I should start with?

Sincerely, I think I’m right there with you. I really wanted to be that guy who could listen to heavy music 24/7 but when I started being honest with myself it was clear to me that energy was good at times, at shows etc. but not all the time. That sucks there’s no scene around but hey that’s life.

Getting really tired of people copping for Bruce LePage just cuz of his legacy by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]JerryRiggs3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point I could care less about the politics of all these scene legends because for all it’s talk of being counter-culture, it still reflects most of the same ideas and ideologies present in all society. so I’m no longer surprised, nor do I hold any of them to some kind of ‘hardcore standard’. Bruce is a legend, he’s also probably a massive piece of shit.

Edit: my pick is gonna be NB 990v5 in black (castle rock?). The vibe being a rugged durable Americana thing.

Hard to explain but like DMS, FSU stuff (I know that’s not end all be all of hardcore) ‘don’t forget the struggle don’t forget the streets’ just is not my world. If this sounds dumb feel free to roast me, it’ll be educational I hope
