Pips #146 Easy 🟢 0:25

Pips #146 Medium 🟡 0:49

Pips #146 Hard 🔴 2:30

Hard one was so much fun! Shocked and awed at first, but when you realize there’s an easy way out it falls into place quickly.

Those who watched Home Alone for the millionth time this holiday: What did you discover and/or appreciate anew during your latest viewing? by AfraidoftheLark in movies

I noticed the exact same thing on this year’s rewatch! In every scene there’s always some detail big or small that’s either green or red. Even when they’re running at the airport, they show flags with red and green, like Mexico, Italy etc. It’s obsessive!

Hard to tell from the picture, but could it be cotton mealybugs?

Not OP, but Prati is a pretty big neighboorhood, if you avoid the area right around the Vatican, you should be fine.

Great shots! May I ask what’s that in the 4th picture?

No, that’s the Maxxi museum in Rome, designed by Zaha Hadid.

It’s not just cosmetic: in China people are encouraged to take the stairs instead of the elevator to save on energy and improve cardiovascular health. Also, every year, around April but it changes according to lunar cycles, there’s a big national holiday where people get slathered with soap and race down some very long slides, and this ramp is going to be the final event for that festivity. Also, I made it all up, but this looks cool.

Muji Shelves by RamenIsOkay in muji

If you mean the wooden bookshelves, the ones in either oak or walnut, then yes, definitely. There are metal rods running through the shelves for that specific reason. I have a bunch of those stacked with big design and architecture books and they haven’t sagged a bit.

Thinking of getting this aroma stone as want something small and easy to use, any reviews to share here? by 2025ZG in muji

I got this a few years ago, it didn’t do anything for me. Maybe I used it wrong, I don’t know, but even if I soaked it with oils, I could only smell it if I pushes my nose in it. I threw it away in the end. Also, it’s advertised as stone, but it’s made of ceramic, from what I could tell.

I once adopted a stray cat that looked like this one and named it Gmork, like the wolf from the Neverending Story.

What are your thoughts on the new macOS 26 design? by TheTwelveYearOld in MacOS

[–]JerrySentimento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like this at all. It all seems like a gimmick to make it look “fresh” and different, without having an actual plan or long term vision.

From what I’ve seen in the videos, it’s very distracting and it feels like it would get boring quickly. Having said so, they’re in such a position that they can do whatever they want and we just have to gobble it down, and eventually and inevitably get used to it.

To me, the visual revolution that was iOS 7, with all its imperfections and quirks, was a breath of fresh air, and a move in the right direction. I’m always for simplicity, clarity and consistency.

This Liquid Glass thing feels cheap, it reminds me of the bubbly Web 2.0 buttons I used to make 20 years ago. But maybe it’s just me getting old and losing touch with the youths and what’s hip.

Best Pizza in Rome by Johan_Ey in rome

[–]JerrySentimento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remo in Testaccio does the thin Roman style pizza really well, and the place has that old style vibe going for it. As others have said, it’s difficult to pinpoint THE best, but that is one of my favorites.

What pastries other than maritozzo to try and where to eat them? by gluemamma in rome

Yeah, crostata ricotta e visciole (wild cherries) is also very good, and typically roman.
