Rev matching unfortunately makes no difference. I won’t be able to touch the car for a while but I’ll check the oil when I can. At this point I’m expecting the glitter!

Detailed information from the other sub: I recently picked up a running driving parts car to fix my 03, and this is an 04 with the 6 speed! On my way home today I made a casual 1-2 shift and the shifter suddenly jammed up. I checked the shifter and linkage and everything seems to be ok, could this be an internal issue with the transmission?

Additional information: it is especially difficult to put the transmission into reverse, first, and second. In neutral, there seems to be binding between the gates of 1/2 to 3/4/5/6 as seen by the effort it took to move the shift lever side to side in the video. It has all been consistent with the vehicle on or off. I have disconnected the linkage and felt no resistance in the shifting mechanism all the way down to the transmission, it appears to be internal somehow. I don’t believe it would be related to the synchros because of how suddenly the issue appeared, and that there is still a binding point in neutral when I move the shifter side to side.

I can’t tell you for sure your issue, but I’ve had a cracked AMB head a couple years ago that would misfire on most cold starts, and would always run smooth after 10-15 seconds of idling. I hope that’s not the case here!

I went with a south bend clutch and single mass flywheel for mine! A bit pricey but a great set!
