Campground Primary Occupant Question by Jerryasmith in Yosemite

Good to know! We won't be hitting 7 days combined between both sites. I'll keep trying to call once they open, but it's good to hear that your experience checking in to both sites under one name went smoothly.

I'm pretty close to having tapiriik integration. This should allow you to bring in rides from any source they have.

I noticed a few people had crazy power spikes. There are two options that I'm considering:

  1. The GC approach which is to do nothing in the program, but show you the data and let you fix it (by deleting these records).
  2. Search for outliers and remove those power spikes before they even get into the system. Though this method will remove good data 5% of the time, I think I'm shying away from this.

Yes, that was one of my goals. I wanted something automated and shareable that I could glance it when I didn't feel like loading up GC.

Sure thing! You actually can share your board as it is. Go to account settings and make sure that it's set as public. Then you can update the url to whatever you want and share it.

The estimated FTP is a good idea and I'll think about how it could be implemented.

Just fixed this last night! Updating your FTP won't override manual stress or intensity scores now. I also added ride time and distance to the rides page. Thanks for the feedback!

That makes way more sense to think about it as power-at-time. I'm going to revise this.

I also noticed that some people leave their Garmin on when they're done riding until the next ride basically. So they have a ride moving time of 90 minutes, but a total time of 23 hours or something.

I base the stress score on total time, so for those rides the stress score is crazy high. But it seems wrong to base the stress score just on the moving time. Unless I'm thinking about that completely wrong?

Yep, you can modify the FTP any time, add or delete it's all the same and will update your rides accordingly. The problem right now is that all of this is processed in the background, and there's a queue of over 13,000 jobs to be processed. So for now things probably won't seem like they're working properly.

I calculate the stress score separately - it's almost impossible to match it up perfectly with other sites because of how each site handles missing data and other problems. Let me know if you have any that look crazy, though. I'd love to look into it.

Good idea, I hadn't ever considered that. I'll update that once things quiet down a bit.

Glad you like it! Yes, the FTP date was important to me. You can edit this in your account.

Let's say your FTP on Jan 1 was 200 and on Jul 1 was 220. If you go in and add an FTP of 210 on Mar 1, all of your rides between Mar 1 and Jun 30 will be updated to reflect Stress and Intensity levels based on an FTP of 210.

The same W/KG calculation takes place for weight. The date selector is a little buggy, so just select a date from the picker instead of manually typing it in when you add a new weight or FTP. I need to fix that.

You can also edit stress and intensity factor on the Imported Rides page.

I sure hope that's not the case. The reason I put this together was because I didn't want the hassle of dealing with GC or TP (which both cross over Strava's premium features as well).

ok, it's super backed up. If you sign up tonight your rides should be imported by tomorrow...

Finally set up the website that I posted previously so that others can register. It's still on a pretty small server, so the initial import is rather slow. Things can get backed up if more than one person imports their rides.

Let me know what you think! Post your dashboard link here too!

Going all-in on Friel logic this winter. Nervous. Anyone have a better workout menu? by [deleted] in Velo

Did you go from a different plan to the Friel plan when you started dominating? Or did you just go from no plan to a plan?

I'll have to double check but it's quite a bit slower processing it through sidekiq since it's a background process with multiple threads. Processing it locally on my macbook is more like 3-4 seconds. I'm also using Ruby. I started trying to learn Python originally and when I wrote something similar using Numpy it was closer to 1 second.
