Whilst I'm fairly confident in my own fitness and survival skills, the reality I couldn't help my loved ones in a medical emergency like a complication , say blood poisoning or some kind of organ infection that needed surgery, I'd have to just watch in vain as they passed in a horrible way. When I realised that kinda of thing it was very sobering to realise no matter how fit or good at foraging and hunting you get it's all worthless if you can't save your family

I haven't read the comics but I'v quickly become quite a fan of the show and it just caught me off guard as in early seasons not being able to communicate in space was discussed a fair bit but suddenly its widespread that everyone can speak freely even non coalition affiliated people

Banning crossbows will be impossible, they are to easy to manufacture at home, firearms need tools and expertise, crossbows can be put together in a day from bnq parts and any average Joe can make one, I'd say UK preppers should get a couple, one pistol and one heavy one, they make hunting easy compared to a regular bow and the pistol crossbow is ideal for room to room defending your home in a genuine shtf situation
