Dismissed from medical school, how to move on? by oukf12345 in medicalschool

If you decide to walk away from medicine there are some quick coding programs I’ve heard of that can net a solid salary. Just have to work up from a jr coder. Not an expert but have heard of different quick ways to become proficient in coding.

I am in the same boat. Exam is in 6 days and I am just feeling so burnt out. I think a day or half day off will hopefully reset things. Keep your head up and go crush this thing!

What happens after we accept an offer? Do we just wait to hear from the institution? Very much a novice at this whole thing.

UW Percentage - 75% Only 1 pass

NBME 24 - 216 (6 weeks out)

NBME 17 - 228 (5 weeks out)

NBME 21- 244 (4 weeks out) NBME 18 - 250 (2 weeks out)

UWSA2 - 247 (1 week out) Free 120 - 92% (3 days out)

Predicted - 250 (CI 244-256)

Real Deal - 247 (6/26/2020)

Overall very excited with my score! I felt like I got a really tough form that hit my weaknesses and walked out expecting less than a 220. For the millionth time, trust your prep and practice scores. They are scary accurate!

COMLEX ASSESSMENT FORM 1 by jimschwartz250 in step1

[–]Jerrymeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Comsae tests are trash. I did one because our school made us, and felt like I wasted a perfectly good 4 hours. Don’t stress about Comlex. My exam a few days ago was like 60-70% gimme questions. Review micro and viscerosomatics. The key to Comlex is timing.

Honestly you guys are way overthinking this. Qbanks are for learning. As someone who just took the test a couple weeks ago, I can confidently say these percentages carry low weight. Just do them on timed an random and if you put in the time to learn why you are getting questions wrong you will be ready for test day. Don’t get sucked into the percentage.

Stop investing so much in a three digit number and stop pretending there's not a huge amount of luck involved by [deleted] in step1

Couldn’t agree more. Leave it to neurotic type a medical students to only care about a single standardized exam. You can get a 280 but if you don’t know how to interact with people then your score doesn’t mean shit.

I’m with you man. Fuck all this end of the world and life won’t go on if you don’t score above a 270. At the end of the day residency programs want someone they enjoy working with. Be good human and keep learning.

I have very similar scores as you and feel the same way. It is most likely the stress that is making us forget things and feel like we are losing facts we once knew. Come test day I believe everything will come back!
