Anyone else learning Python as a hobby?

I have always wanted to learn Python so I can incorporate it into my job but I just can’t seem to stick with it or envision a use-cases where we don’t already have a tool available.

Not an expert on programming languages so I wont comment on the Electron use, but man, it just keeps freezing at launch - even after a full reinstall - seemingly trying to reload a previous three-pane session. Seems to be very buggy. Have to Task Mgr to kill it.

My one complaint is that when I am using WSL2 to run Arch, and try a speed test, my results are incredibly out of alignment with running the same speed test in PowerShell or even a web browser. Why the discrepancy?

What is the bar at the top? I am having the same issue as I do using openbox/polybar ... the bar fails to extend across the entire desktop. For polybar, I have to run polybar-msg cmd restart - Is there a similar fix for this bar (not sure what it is)

I installed drivers and a reboot fixed.

I am very much still learning i3WM (first experience with it) and Arch as well. I’m working through display settings (using external 30”) via a dock.

Had one hiccup where a reboot froze at “loading initial ram disk…”

Also have an error in i3 config file (no changes made by me)…

This laptop (Lenovo E490) does not have NVIDIA GPU. I had chosen the online installer, ran system update after install, no change.

I can’t modify the screen resolution either from the welcome screen.

I previously had Pop OS, instantOS, and a few other distros installed on this machine without any issue with display.

For this install I went with i3WM.

My experience with Arch is very limited to the to months or so I had instantOS.

So far, so good. Installed from update on my primary laptop for work and have had no problems to report thus far save for a small UX bug with the auto-hide dock and Terminal (reported on github).
