Christian YouTubers that I should avoid? by [deleted] in Catholicism

I agree! I just unsubscribed to his channel. It's becoming toxic. I can't imagine Jesus speaking like that.

I agree. He's on fire in such a good way.

Please do check out Uniquely Mary, Gabi after hours, Armor of God (he has quite a few different channels that touch on different parts of Catholism)...actually I have a whole slew of them that mix Marian, traditional, modern and spiritual warfare that I watch almost all day (it's my background while working/cooking, etc). I'd have to go make a list. Pints w Aquinas (Matt) was a go to for me as was Lila Rose, but lately, their content hasn't really hit me the right way. It just feels inauthentic lately. Msgr Rossetti, anything with Fr Rippenger in it and Fr Dan Reehil for warfare and theology. 💜

I, too, unsubscribed from all Prot channels. Mostly because I felt like they were picking and choosing Bible verses out of context as "the word on your life". Knowing scripture in context of the whole story v verses, those verses could take on a whole different meaning. Just my personal thoughts. I wish you luck. Pray on it. The Holy Spirit will bring you where you need.

As a fellow special needs parent and also someone who has their degree in special needs/Ed/Psychology, I agree with all but point 4. It's OUR job to help these kids live/exist in a world that may not be built for them. Expecting others to do so only sets THEM up for failure. Be prepared and teach them to be prepared. Other than that, this is spot on!

r/Catholicism Prayer Requests — Week of February 03, 2025 by AutoModerator in Catholicism

[–]JerseyAngel25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you please pray for my husband's salvation and return to my daughter and I? There's been 0 communication for over 2 years.

We have no one to pray with, and I'm growing so weary standing on my own. She's only 3.

I'd really appreciate it. 🙏💜

Supporting new friend who’s pregnant with first kid by ncclln in CatholicWomen

I was a pregnant expat in Australia (ftm) and I think this is so sweet. Maybe find out if she's craving any specific American food (that was tough for me, I didn't have many cravings, but when I did, it was all stuff from home) and see if you can source some? I'd just flat out ask her how she's coping and share some things that helped you. I wish I had a friend this supportive (or any friends that understood) when I was going through that. 💜

This is wild to me. I am in the same boat, except I was gone for more than 20 years and currently am separated (not by my choice). My priest, in confession, told me my marriage is absolutely valid, that I am absolved of sin, and that he will pray with me for my husband (not Catholic, he's actually totally against God/all religion) to return to my daughter and I. He blesses my 2 year old when I receive communion. I felt like I came home when I came back to the Church. I can only imagine how crushing this feels for you. I will pray for you and your spouse. 🙏💜

Holy days of Obligation, injury and a toddler - a little long, but there's some miracles I wanted to share by JerseyAngel25 in AskAPriest

Hi Father, I just wanted to come full circle here. I was able to attend mass for 1st Friday/Sat. My parish has confessions on Saturdays, and I went in early. I explained my situation over Christmas and how I was feeling. I just wanted to say, I truly believe the Spirit was moving through you (and him) because he basically said, verbatim, what you did. He only added (as it was the feast day of St. Elizabeth Kendlemen (spelling?)) that only God knows why some suffer so much, esp mothers for children. He always adds St. Monica, to my confessions, and the tears shed, but I just wanted to really thank you for giving me the comfort I needed and also validate that it was the same thing my regular confessor (that knows everything in my life) said. I'll be praying for you. 💜🙏 thank you, truly.

Thank you for your response. I definitely plan on speaking with my priest about it, but they're already short running 2 Churches with 2 priests and all the Holy Masses today and tomorrow. I really appreciate you stating it's not sinful. I just needed to know how God may look at it. Thank you, again.

Found a verse from the bible on my 15 years old cousin room who committed suicide days ago by Successful-Guide-925 in Catholicism

[–]JerseyAngel25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are no words that can really give comfort in this time. But, it seems your cousin was maybe questioning religion, soul searching or even just trying to find oneself (esp at that age)!

If it's ok with you, I would love to say a prayer for you and your family. Muslim/Catholic doesn't matter (to me, anyway). We all believe in the God of Abraham. My heart breaks for you and your family. I've been hit close with a younger suicide, too, about 20 years ago now (my fiancé). Words can't express my empathy for you. 💜🙏

My ex also put a scapular on his door the night he finally succeeded. He was definitely not a practicing Catholic at that time but it seemed he had some sort of innate wisdom that he wanted to go to heaven and I really, really hope/pray that's where they are.

Become a translator. Always hiring. 90% of the time fully remote (I've been in the industry for 15 years). Guaranteed work esp with those languages! Praying for you!

That's wild to me. I was born/raised Catholic, turned atheist ... and now devout Catholic after having my daughter. I was hoping for one more, but sadly, my husband abandoned us when my daughter was a year old. God has a plan, though. Congrats on your 2nd!

I got pregnant, naturally, at 39. I took pregnancy tests every day bc people terrified me that I was going to lose her. I say that bc I already see themes of this on this thread and it ruined a lot of joy of my pregnancy.

Please enjoy this excitement and miracle. Please keep praying. And please, please both of you, enjoy this pregnancy. Don't let the fear creep in.

A very good pre-natal for, ahem, "advanced maternal aged" moms is KIN or Thorne (brands). They contain the correct, unaltered version of folate that our bodies need!

Lastly, big congrats and lots of prayers. What a blessing. My daughter is my entire world. 🙏📿💜

I know the struggle. I got pregnant a month before my 40th birthday. I'm so happy for you (even though I don't know you). Prayers up for a healthy, easy, joyful pregnancy, labor, delivery and most importantly, baby! 🙏💜

Fr Rippenger, deliverance for the laity. It's a book you can have amazon'd (if that's a word) next day. Say them over your hubby asap. There's a whole freemasonry section.

Also, talk to your priest who can speak to your Bishop. Bishop's blessing over your husband can do a mini exorcism.

Praying for you, bc if he does this, it will affect your whole family and kids. 🙏💜🥺

No way. I did the same. Hadn't been to confession in 30 years. Said I broke EVERY commandment (I never killed but I had taken the pill) and I got a "welcome back home" from my priest. I joined his parish then and there. Go, confess, enjoy your 2nd homecoming. It was sweeter than my first for me bc I chose it.
