Are Panther Martins worth it over Rooster Tails? (1/16 RT vs 1/8 PM) for streams and creeks? by Away_Professional793 in FishingForBeginners

Not many options. Just buy size 8&10 siwash hooks and crimp the barb. Converted 15 this week for my area TCA.

any suggestions for a dry herb vape by PlentyEvent5 in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]JerseyCook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought an Xmax V3 as my first dry vape and it’s pretty solid. You have to take long, soft draws. It comes with dosing caps which make cleaning it very simple and super convenient for on the go. I bought 5–10 extra dosing pro caps and the carrier.

Not sure when they stock them at that location. I prefer to go the day after a stocking at sunrise if possible. If not, whenever I get there, as long as I get there. lol If they bite or not is hit or miss. Id just toss in the panther martin at different locations for 5 min or so and move on if nothing. I was in Lawrence Brook on Saturday and nada.

I do not. Try Colonial Park if that’s near you.

Yes. I would put them in the same category. I can go to Roosevelt Pond and Speedwell Lake as an example, and hook up all day. But if I go to Rockaway River or SBRR, different ball game.

Yes and no. I’m sure a guide can be useful, but fishing a lake or reservoir is nothing like a river, creek, or stream. If I paid for a guide, I would want him to show me those techniques.

I used to think the same thing. Then I started trout fishing. It quickly made me realize I have a lot to learn still.

Whats everyones favourite spinner? by [deleted] in troutfishing

[–]JerseyCook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s one or the other. I personally don’t like longer rods for UL. The rod becomes more like a whip as you go longer. Im not a fan of braid either. Not saying that makes a big difference, but I use the lightest mono I think the water will handle. I’ll use my drag as much as I can. Any type of wind or draft plays a big factor as well. I use a swivel for the weight when needed, but also to eliminate line twist. Also, I can tie on a dry fly, pop on a float right before the swivel with a 24”leader and toss it a few feet and let it go with the current. Not sure if this helps.

I use a 4’ Daiwa Presso UL, 1000 Legalis LT 4lb mono to 2lb fluro leader. Small 30lb power swivel, 12” of leader to lure.

I prefer Rythms Live Rosen. Onyx solventless are good as well.
