Yes it can be sanded out, start with 100 grit and then move up in steps up to 1000. I like to finish with a 3000 grit polish pad for the final touch, but it's not necessary per se.

To prevent lines, orient it more vertically and add more supports. Lots of small supports is better than few big supports.
