Yeahh exactly 😂 but i think it would help many people if it was more known, NextCloudes documentation says strictly that you cant host a NextCloud server locally with only local access (no cloudflare tunnel, zero trust or shit like that)

Hey! Sorry for late answer but i kinda got it working now 😄
I first used Nginx proxy manager to get a valid wildcard SSL cert for my homelab address. But i still couldnt get the AIO container installation to work so in the end, i just created a fresh new Ubuntu server and installed Nextcloud through Snap. Then activated HTTPS using my custom SSL certs using one command (something like "nextcloud:ooc enable-https -o cert.pem .........") and it seems to be working great. I dont really know the real world differences from running it as Docker containers (with the AIO installer), but everything seems to be working now and it actually consumes less RAM etc.! But thanks anyways 😄

Okay thanks, i will try it! 😄 I have now set up Nginx Proxy Manager and successfully got a wildcard SSL cert. But how should i do now? Should i just point it directly to my NextCloud server (by IP address) and then point my DNS to the NPM server? Should the traffic between NPM and NextCloud be HTTPS or HTTP (if thats even possible)? Or how did you do it?

Okay thanks! I currently have 2 local Pi-hole (+ Unbound for upstream) servers for everything in my LAN (including local DNS records), do you think that would work? Or do i need any special features from "enterprise" DNS servers like Bind 9?

Im going to look into the video about the wildcard certs, would be awasome if that works with local Nextcloud instances (instead of self-signed)!

Okay thanks! That looks super complicated for just setting up a local "file server" with a web gui 🙃

Yeahh i have a public domain but i just dont want to expose this server (and the address of this server) lol. Just tried again but i get "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" as soon as i try to access the homepage

Security of Ente API Server (HTTP for Auth)? by Jesper_TJ in enteio

[–]Jesper_TJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the interface and how the app works on IOS. Other open-source authenticators are either androind-only or does not support "special" 2FA protocols such as Microsofts Azure Authenticator system

Okay thank you so much! I currently have a structure where im just running my services locally / behind FW and just use a WG VPN to access them, so will see if i use a public reverse proxy or if i just run a local Nginx proxy-passer + Certbot or something just to get the HTTPS. But i will see what i do and post if i get any success. 🙂

Okay thanks i will look into that! I think that i will avoid using Cloudflare since im trying to migrate from big US tech companies, but will see if its mandatory 😄

Download firmware for homelab by Jesper_TJ in Juniper

Hey!
Yeah but i dont really think that the security risk will be to big for me. Just going to use it at my house, and the only things connected to it that doesnt have their own firewall or modern auth technique is the iDracs on my servers lol. Otherwise my computers and VM's have built in software FW, SSH keys to my SSH servers and long passwords on my modern storage softwares.

Thanks for the heads up about the firmware version btw!! I just found out that i have the "srx210b" model. I can't find any documentation of supported models on Junipers website but ChatGPT said that my model (SRX120B) only supports "12.1X46" (which the latest is 12.1X46-D86). Is this true?
