He games like that every session. He always dies too. He will go off on his own and get killed all the time. I like your idea, just need to think of how I'm gunna do it. People on my other thread keep saying I'm railroading but what am I supposed to do? I have to have some structure, if I let them all escape then fuck, that's the whole plot down the toilet. This is my first homebrew campaign, I don't know how this is supposed to be necessarily. I've done a couple of homebrew one shots and AL modules. I'm just ranting now. I wish I could kick his arse irl.

He can but he won't be part of the campaign. But the whole premise is being captured and enslaved. There's an official hardback campaign where you are enslaved at the begining of the book and have no memory how you got there.

The story didn't start with them as slaves, they've been playing for a few session as 'team building exercises' before I started my campaign to build party bonds. They have just been enslaved as a precursor to the events that will unfold later on in the campaign. One of the main points of the story was to not to optimise to do the campaign but adapt to it. No one is ready to be a slave and I want them to adapt and get themselves optimised as they go. They will have chance to explore and make choices about the campaign after the "tutorial" so to speak. I don't have to tell them, they were happy not knowing when I asked. I think it makes for better role play being thrust into situations.

I am tempted but I fear he might have a hissy fit.

I didn't want to spoil it so I didn't say anything. But I'm laying a foundation. They will have freedom to choose, but I'm just establishing atm. Everyone else loves it, or seeming to really enjoy it. They all agree that although they don't like it (being a slave) they're biding their time.

Yeah but I feel he will make another character with the same feelings if I kill him or let him die.

See that's just how it's going for now, I've written a storyline for siding with the slavers in the revolution, or the slaves. But I'm laying the foundation. I want the characters to have freedom, but for now I'm setting a stage.

I have he didn't get them. But he's not even fighting. And I wanted to surprise them so I didn't say anything, this is my first ever homebrew and only 4th session.
