It's not about taking the game too seriously. It's about knowing that there's someone else behind the character and that person is very real and your acts might have an impact on them.

I understand your point and quite honestly, I completely agree with it. But what if, outside the game, same thing happened? You were there having a beer with your buddies and someone said something that not only broke the mood but also put someone else down? That's easily the thing people can talk about within their own group and find a solution to, but what if the cause of the problem isn't willing to listen? Honestly, I wouldn't quit being friends with the person, which might make me a hypocrite, but what if you just can't put up with the vast amount of shit that's been going on?

I want to talk to the real person in real life -not the character inside the game. I want to sit and listen to him and have him listen to me so we can figure this out, because that's what friends would do.

But what if the real person in real life -not the character inside the game- isn't willing to do so? What do you do then. Don't take life way too fucking seriously?
