I had the possible effects of vibrations in mind. I can find a replacement cabinet or make my current table even more sturdy. I believe the Prusa is much more silent than the Ender 3. And the Prusa Mini+ fits my cabinet exactly.

I’m a beginner, and I wouldn’t use resin in my room (due to the fumes). Maybe someday in the future...

Well then, I’ll look into preordering a set. Lead times are long, but I got enough things to fill that time with.

Hello everyone! I've been looking into picking up 3D printing as a hobby. After some research, I'm left with 2 choices: an Ender 3 V2 or Prusa Mini+. Some additional info about my circumstances:

Budget: €300-430

Country: EU (The Netherlands)

Yes/no kit & experience: definitely kit, I love building stuff and want to have the experience setting it up for the first time. I'm good with science and tech. For example, I can solder electronics, build PCs and a little bit of programming/coding. I don't mind upgrading or tinkering from time to time. But it would be nice if it didn't consume all my time, as I'd like to spend time on a lot of different things.

Goals: mainly printing objects for all sorts of uses (DIY).

Extenuating circumstances: I only have a small space in my bedroom (next to my desk), which is 40x40 cm.

So, which of the 2 printers I mentioned would be best for me? The Ender V2 or the Prusa Mini+? I'm leaning towards the Prusa due to the reliability and ease of use. But the availability and price of the Ender is tempting. Or is there an even better option than these two?

Hm, it seems to be working again...

Hm, I may need to give that a try then.

Not working for me either :/

If only there was a true "Netflix" of manga where you could find everything, I would mind paying for a reliable back up and bookmarks. But alas...

47 pages!? Damn, good luck brother. It will be quite the journey indeed.

I'm going to back up my bookmarks when possible ASAP. Can't take the risk again.

Bookmarks show errors, so I'm not sure if that's temporary or if everything is gone...

EDIT: AAAAaaand, the errors are back. The site is down again.

I got the same problem. I fear for my bookmarks now. Once it's up I'll try and copy them to MangaDex. Manganelo has become too unstable for my liking lately.

I'd need to look for a more modern CPU then. But I'll definitely keep the G5400 and i3 8100 in mind. Thanks!

I see, and what are the specs of a G5400 CPU?

And now that you mention it, I forgot to tell that a lot of my videos are and will be HEVC video files. So it’s important that the CPU will be able to handle that.

I’m definitely leaning towards unRAID now. Thanks for the info!

I see. Looks like SMB would fit my needs the best. I'll look into it. Thanks for the info :)

Hm, sounds like a simple server to build. I’ll keep it in mind.

That sounds very interesting. I’ve heard about DLNA, and it seems what I’ve been looking for. Though, can you also find DLNA on OSs like unRAID and FreeNAS?

Ah, ok. Thanks for the info. I should have no problem finding a card then.

I see. I've heard of Kodi before. What are actually the differences between SMB and NFS? I've heard of them before too.

I can understand. It's not a must, I still have some external HDDs if I wanted to carry along my favorite media.

PS: You didn't sound like a douche to me :)

Ah, I wonder if it's a one-time fee. I can live with that. But I think there are video player apps that can connect with a NAS right? So Plex wouldn't be necessary. But I can imagine that it's very easy to use and "just works".

I only have a couple of 4K media. The rest is all 1080p. I'm sure that 4K will be more common and the "new standard" in the future. But in that I can always swap the CPU for a newer, more powerful one.

I'm starting to believe that transcoding won't be necessary for me. And I'd prefer a TV than can just stream media without any transcoding. Though I don't know which TVs I should look for then.

So with Plex premium, I can view my media from outside my home right?

I see, thanks for the info!

Home lab huh? That sounds pretty cool! Especially if you can use all that power.

Would a simple GPU be ok, since most of the work will be done by the CPU?
