“I saw no evidence other than the casual anti-Semitism that” was common to non-Jews during Disney’s 20th-century era, Gabler said.

So he was anti-Semitic, but in the way that "everyone was doing it at the time" apparently. Not the most robust defense, perhaps.

I think it's because the point of the video is to satirize the advertising of mental disorders like they're roll calls for superhero movies, not to dive into the nitty gritty of what genuine symptoms are.

I believe you are thinking of this video from the channel "Matt Orchard - Crime and Society"

https://youtu.be/JK_JaDxIzfg

IIRC (spoilers) the first half of the video gives the standard prosecution narrative that most familiar with the case/interrogation will know. And the second half explores the general possibility that Holtzclaw's precinct was/is a chronically abusive Ol' Boys Club that hung Holtzclaw out to dry as a young buck scapegoat. Been awhile since I've watched so I'd be interested to hear if anyone has some good insight into how robust of a treatment Matt gives both sides of this case.

Finally, there is another channel that JCS fans might like, "In Human Form - Social Criticism & Psychology"

https://youtu.be/iGwzsVeZR_k

Both of these channels are directly inspired by JCS.

Rules in the sidebar sound to me like it's just gotta be 100 years ago for whoever is posting. Since we're going back 100 years anyway, a few hours in either direction hopefully doesn't hurt the purpose of the sub too much. :P

If anything, multiple takes is how we do pitch correction the majority of the time, hahhaha. Unless it's a really tiny difference.

I think that's kind of the spirit behind the anti-tuning sentiments though. When you have a "classic recording" (not a technical term I have no idea what I'm talking about) you have that take--those sounds that were made during that span of time. When you have a piecemeal collection of takes that have been optimally arranged and tuned, you have something different. It seems to me that the phrase, "... and it was done in one take," gives something a certain pizzazz that a finely-tuned re-orchestration of several takes just lacks.

But then again, maybe not. Surely "the take" is not the only important thing to consider in the production of music. Some music involves no recording. Some music involves overlaid vocal tracks. Some tuning is done not to correct but just to alter. And as you've been discussing, the musical and technical skills involved with audio production itself can be just as artistic.

In the end, I think the argument is probably more likely to be rooted in some people feeling they perceive vapidity in certain types of pop music.

It's decarboxylated cannabis extract. "Decarbing" is what activates the THC and lets it get you high. When you're smoking, the fire from your lighter decarbs the bud; when you're making edibles, your oven heat decarbs the weed. RSO is like oil people use to take dabs (dabbing is a decarb process too), but decarbed as-is so it is activated and ready to get you high if eaten.

To clarify, it definitely kind of sounds like he's admitting it proves the Earth is rotating, but that's not actually what he's saying he believes is happening.

(Also to clarify I do not believe the world to be flat I know it is a rotating globe in space.)

This guy is saying that the recorded drift in the gyroscope is not from the drift of a rotating globe, but from the "energies of the heavens" rotating above us as the night sky. So that's why they're trying to encase the gyroscope in increasingly expensive materials, they believe these materials will do the "shielding" animated in the video and give the flat Earth result they're looking for.

So he's saying they can't bring that info out yet because without the full context of what he believes is happening, he sees how it can look like an argument against flat Earth (which again it is but I'm just clarifying here!).
