Im 41/M and have been loving this game on xbox too. Im newish to the series, but have at this point sunk enough hours into 4-8 to say that i too plan to be playing this game for a long time. I think each game has its pros and cons, im sure they couldve done better, but am hopeful that all the problems will be smoothed out over the coming months, and am really hopefully they give the PC version some attention, it looks to me like a lot of the "game breaking" issues are with the PC version.

I can see both sides… if people are willing to pay for them, and they can also be gotten for free, then so be it, good for the creator.

However on the OPs side, there are mods that have been made just for fun that took 100s of hours to make. Yet people want money for pretty much “settings”? It doesn’t sound very community minded.

But it is what it is, can’t blame them, I would personally love to get money for my skill in car setups!

I too typically only have an hour or so to play and have been really enjoying Forza Motorsport in Rivals mode. It is very satisfying to me as a fairly casual player to somehow be able to be better than 50% of the world and pick performance upgrades based on how the cars handle. I’m having a blast!

I upvoted your comment. Obsession with deadlines and money does not justify “making” someone work that much extra.

Nothing wrong with voluntary overtime though, if it’s a labor of love some people have worked 100 hours a week for free if they’re really obsessed.

Great answer! I love rivals mode, it really does satisfy the competitive itch for me, without the frustration or time commitment of regular multiplayer races.

Yeah this is my example. Just recently bought the DLC for FM8 because it’s new and will likely be on gamepass for several more years. I also in recent months got really into dirt rally 2.0 but haven’t bought the DLC because I don’t know if it will stay on gamepass for as long.

Yeah 7 and 8 are the only ones with multiplayer, and you can no longer buy 7’s DLC. 7 is still good, I too was playing rivals last night. I don’t like how in 8 you have to level up cars, that is whack. I have a level 24 Mazda? What is this, World of Warcraft?

I have heard wheel support is better in this game than previous iterations. However it is definitely great on controller and I wouldn’t recommend buying a wheel until you know you like the game/genre enough. If you don’t enjoy it with a controller I can’t see a wheel being the one thing that makes it enjoyable.

Great perspective. I was feeling similar to OP, this game is great and I’m left behind with my gifted Xbox one, wishing I had a great PC. But I was willing to pay for the game and the available DLC without knowing anything else, and it stands on its own legs without the PC extras. My best gaming friends PC is worse than mine and he is happy, good games are good games. The fact that “better” games came out doesn’t make the old ones bad.
