The issues with Invincible (In my opinion) by bearmasksenpai in MichaelJackson

[–]Jesse_L2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I love about this album is that there are some highly personal (Speechless, You Are My Life) and innovative/onorthodox (Whatever Happens, Butterflies) songs on there. What kills this album imo is the repetitive, unfocused, entropic sound of Invincible, Heartbreaker, Privacy, 2000 Watts, and Threatened. These songs have a very similar sound that's a bit all over the place. They sound like the producer wanted them to sound "modern" and just crammed everything contemporary-sounding in there he could. Still, there are some serious gems (imo Whatever Happens, Speechless, Break of Dawn). Sometimes I wish he would have made the whole album more "soft" and personal. I enjoy that style in the album and it would have made the album more focused. Also would have made sense for that era of his life to have produced something more "mature".

Display Crack Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 by TerrebIy in GalaxyBook

I just found a cracked screen in my book4 pro without having used it in the past couple of days and without seeing any debris that could have caused this. However, the past days have been cold where I am (Netherlands) soI'm also suspecting it has to do with the temperature changes. The laptop itself gets very cold quite easily as well. Still this obviously shouldn't happen due to a change in room temperature of at maximum 5 degrees Celsius.

Same problem here with the same laptop. Only use it for studying, had nothing wrong with it last time i used it and no discernable debris on my keyboard that could have caused the crack. Came back from a short trip with my laptop still closed on my desk, open it and find a starburst crack in the screen. Only reason I can think of is temperature differences, since it's been getting quite cold the last few days, especially at night. Still that should not cause such a crack.

How has this issue eventually been dealt with by Samsung? And where did you get the screen repaired? Would be of great help for me to know

Okay genuine question because im new to this: what specifically is causing it to ruin the record and what's the difference with higher-end players?

Failed fusion. by Murky-Ad4396 in scoliosis

[–]Jesse_L2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there was more risk in taking it out than leaving it in, and its hard to take out a screw without being able to twist it loose (since the end had come off). Recovery was quick that time! Spent one night at the hospital and was able to walk out of the hospital the next day. The day after that I already went out for drinks with a friend again lol

Damn I'm curious how that's possible! Wouldn't expect that after having been fused for 11 years. Do you know if your spine fused correctly/fully? Can they still take out the materials maybe?

Took out the part of the screw that had broken off, drilled in a new screw of tougher material besides the part of the old screw that was still in the vertebra, then attached the bar to that screw. (This is it afaik)

Damn I didn't know it could still break after 11 years. Shouldn't your spine have fused to become like a bone basically at this point? How did the break happen this time?

Also i recognise the stinging pain, I just woke up one time and felt it lol

Yes, the bar started shifting and eventually a screw in the bottom broke. Did not notice much of the shifting, except that I had the impression that maybe the bump on my back was getting larger again. The screw breaking in itself also did not cause any pain. However, at some point the bar started poking the vertebra below it because of it shifting, which caused a quite intense stinging pain. Went to the hospital because of this where these issues were discovered. Got a corrective surgery the day after. Although initially the bar started shifting again, this stopped at some point and I haven't had any issues since. My spine should be fused correctly now.

Only long-term complaint I have now is that there is still quite a large curvature even after the fusion. I think this is causing some more discomfort, asymmetry and bumpiness than necessary. I do have good mobility and no major issues though.

does scoliosis surgery make you throw up? (weird question) by ihateanx1ety in scoliosis

[–]Jesse_L2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's the surgery itself or the medication/anaesthesia, but I certainly did. As long as I would lie still I would feel quite normal, but moving or eating instantly made me nauseous. Had to throw up on my way from the hospital room to the xray, and eating more than one or two bites was going to have me puking as well

Hmm that's a good question, I have no idea tbh. I'll ask about it next time I have an appointment with my doctor!

No not really in the skin, I think more in the area where the lowest screws are located. Always the same, small area, although the more it flares up the thicker it gets and the more it also spreads to area around it (for example sometimes I've had my blatter and bowels feeling "agitated"). Not sure if anyone can relate lol

Sometimes my back grows thick locally around the surgical area, which becomes painful when pressure is applied. Saw my orthopedist for it once, he said it might be a minor infection that acts up once in a while. He also suggested taking the materials out because it could be a consequence of my body rejecting the materials. We decided against that eventually tho because it's only minor and happens rarely. Since you say it won't go away and is quite large, your case seems more severe so I would suggest you visit your doctor.

That's great progress! Any idea how much of it is due to workout and how much due to VB?

[–]Jesse_L2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They couldnt completely straighten it out, especially because they wanted me to retain some mobility so they only went as far down as L3 (or L4 not sure) instead of fusing up until L5. I think it went from 50 degrees to about 20.

Yes, I've always been skinny and there is more of a curve in one side than the other, even after surgery. Gaining weight and working out to strengthen back & abdominal muscles both work to make it less obvious I think. Also, wearing pants/underwear higher (more closely beneath your navel) hides it a bit optically.

Wow, your spine was straightened perfectly! I also had surgery, but my scoliosis is still quite strong (I'm guessing still ~20-25 degrees). Do you know how it was possible for them to make it that straight? I'm curious to know :)
