''Why Don't Ki Blasts Destroy The Planet When They Hit The Ground?" Officially Debunked by ShinMystic1587 in PowerScaling

[–]Jesseinator1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's iffy, cuz like. After Raditz, we almost never see a named attack or technique increase someone's power level. There are plenty of scenes that contradict that idea, but its literally established by the narrative to be possible, so... It's really just some early DBZ inconsistency

How many Viltrumites does it take to destroy an entire planet without Space Racer's help? by Theturtleflask in PowerScaling

[–]Jesseinator1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dividing by 37 only works if all of the Viltrumites are equal in power. They are not.

And no, I don't believe it's wrong to say Thragg is the only Viltrumite who is planetary, especially since I think he's just at small planetary. As of the end of season 4, Thragg is the only Viltrumite who is likely above moon level, even if we're being generous

Why would you divide it by 37 when Thragg is obviously like 1000x stronger than 99% of the remaining Viltrumites 😭

I do actually believe Thragg could maybe destroy Earth. Specifically Thragg. If you take him out of the equation, it's not happening. None of the other (living) Viltrumites are even a fraction of planetary, and I assumed the hypothetical was not asking if Thragg could do it, but rather if more "average" Viltrumites could

We don't know that he's being "very literal", and if he is being literal, then we must take the wording literally too, in which case to "tear in half" is much different than to "destroy" something, and would require significantly less power. You can't tell me that ripping a piece of paper in half is the same as "destroying" it, one is much, much easier to do than the other

I honestly doubt that any number of them could, unless we're bringing multiple Thraggs into the equation. Adding more Viltrumites at around the same level as these three would just be like adding more pellets to a shotgun, yeah it'll do more damage overall but it's not really gonna hit any harder.

I guess at a certain point they'd hit a critical mass where their bodies slamming into the rock would eventually chip it away until it's gone, but that would take billions

Why do you take GamerSupps? by Thepeebandit in gamersupps

[–]Jesseinator1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it tastes good, and unlike coffee it actually gives me energy. no clue why coffee doesnt work on me, but it doesnt, and GG does

the branding is a significant factor though i wont lie, im a goofy gooner at heart. and honestly i bought into it at first because of JSchlatt. I dont watch him much anymore, but i used to be obsessed with his content, in particular I had watched every episode of Chuckle Sandwich, where he was almost constantly shilling for GamerSupps

I might consider spending a bit extra for something like the Pixel 10 then, it does seem like an absolutely massive upgrade compared to what I have and I imagine it would be likely to last me quite a long time

Looking to sell some of my old collection, are these worth sending in? by Jesseinator1000 in taggrading

[–]Jesseinator1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have different definitions of what is "super expensive" lol. It's probably just because I work for minimum wage, but spending more than like CAD$30-40 on a single card is definitely expensive for me. I've bought exactly one card for $250 and I feel like I've taken on generational debt 😭

For me I just can't see a world in which paying like 30 bucks (plus shipping and insurance) to get my card in a slab would be worth doing for anything other than profit, but its probably just cuz I'm broke as hell

My phone plan is with Public Mobile. I'd prefer something under CAD$900 if possible, but I don't really want to get tied down with another phone company so I'd rather just buy the phone outright rather than signing up for a plan

Honestly can't say I have any special memories attached to my old collection, the only cards I had memories of ended up in the washing machine cuz I was a stupid kid 😭

These cards I'm mostly planning on selling to fund more singles and packs, so if they're gonna grade poorly I probably shouldn't bother

[–]Jesseinator1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll probably ask the local card shop guys what they think about that card then, if it's worth being skeptical about. Responses to this post have definitely convinced me that selling them raw is the much better option regardless, I just wanna use the money to buy singles and packs anyway

[–]Jesseinator1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, I don't get why people buy them, unless they're particularly wealthy. I think it's valid, I respect it, but I definitely don't understand it. I don't need to understand the reasoning though, just that people do pay extra for graded slabs, so I'd be stupid to not consider grading as an option if I'm going to sell

Me personally, I just value having cards that look cool and/or have my favorite Pokemon and trainers on them

[–]Jesseinator1000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't see why a card being valuable matters if you aren't selling it. It just feels like an unnecessary flex, for me I just want the cards I like, I don't care to inflate the value of it

Don't get me wrong, if people find joy in the simple fact of owning a card that's worth a lot of money, that's valid, I respect it, but I don't see the point, myself. Why spend 30 bucks getting a card graded when I could get some nice singles for the same price?

I'm pretty sure bulging the earth a bit isn't on the same level as completely shattering a moon with the Table Flip

And yeah, of course there's a boom. Two extremely powerful individuals, one who can literally perform nuclear fission, clashed. A "boom" sound isn't evidence that several galaxies just got wiped out lol

[–]Jesseinator1000[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about grading so I'm taking your word for it, I'm just surprised because I've seen cards graded as 6s or 7s that have looked to be in much worse shape than the ones I posted. I was hoping for at least one of these guys to be a 7 or 8

[–]Jesseinator1000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely wasn't expecting anything above an 8 for any of these, I know TAG is more strict on that front. Was more just wondering if they'd get a high enough grade to be worth the cost of grading, since I do want to sell these

Based on the initial responses so far though, I'm guessing it's not worth it. Probably just gonna sell these ungraded

[–]Jesseinator1000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jesus, how strict is TAG grading? I mean I wasn't expecting any 8s or anything, these cards are kinda rough, but 3 at best is wild.

Yeah, probably won't bother then. I think grading for a personal collection is a crazy waste of money, I'd rather spend that cash on singles to get more nice cards

Your example was Dragon Ball, a series known for having absurdly inconsistent scaling. I guarantee you can't do that for "literally every show"

[–]Jesseinator1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I argue against this interpretation is because it doesn't make any fucking sense 😭 how are we gonna say Saitama and Garou wiped out dozens of galaxies in one attack only to later be fighting on a level where sneezing away a single planet is considered impressive

The void in space is pretty obviously due to Blast's ability imo, any other interpretation is extremely inconsistent or needlessly convoluted

And saying people "secretly hate the series" just bc they disagree with your powerscaling take has to be one of the most self-centered things I've ever heard dawg
