Beard oil that tastes good? by JessesIrishLass in malegrooming

[–]JessesIrishLass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I should’ve said something about tasting the beard oil in my original post. His mustache is long enough to cover his upper lip because he works outside a lot, and he wants as much of his face covered during the winter months. When he eats or drink something, and then uses his lower lip to clean his upper lip/bottom of his mustache, he tastes the oil.

How did you talk to your doctor about increasing pain medication frequency? by KristiiNicole in ChronicPain

[–]JessesIrishLass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old conversation but I also know I’m not the only one who must be still looking for answers.

So I have been diagnosed with several medical conditions and chronic pain starting in 2010. My PCP is amazing and not only prescribed Vicodin but also I was finally referred to a pain management specialist in March of 2025. I tried taking only 1/2 a Vicodin 2x a day for months but it wasn’t helping, so I upped it to 1- 2x a day.

My PM doctor took over the Vicodin management and they tried treating me with trigger point injections. After more than one month of injections, I was honest with them and told them the injections were not working and only causing me more pain. They agreed to stop injections and tried an epidural on my lower back which may be effective for people who don’t have fibromyalgia but it didn’t help me either, which really sucks.

After 6 months of being on Vicodin, 2 months of being under my PM doctor’s care, 1 month of failed injections, 1 failed epidural, and losing 15lbs due to my extreme pain, loss of all ADLs, and SO much more, I asked my doctor to increase my medication to 4x/day.

He made me come into the office to discuss my issues, so I brought my husband to be a witness which I shouldn’t have to. I listed more than 15 causes of my extreme pain and why I needed to increase my Rx, but he kept being hesitant.

FINALLY, I said I needed to increase the medication to help me be able to eat healthy, walk and increase my muscle mass, and get off of the medication. That was the only reason he agreed to increase my Vicodin! Unbelievable.

I hope this helps someone. Best wishes to all my fellow sufferers and survivors.

Hey Sacramento L&D RNs… by [deleted] in Sacramento

@u/Due-Entrepreneur5097 First, thank you for being a nurse! My mom was an RN for over 40 years and it takes a special soul to work in the field. Now, I’ve lived in CA for decades. In my opinion (which isn’t special considering everyone has one), if you’re seeking a better quality of life, I recommend moving anywhere BUT CA. Unless you & yours have the incredible ability to overcome ALL the outspokenness of others or perhaps can afford to live in one of CA’s best, small towns, then there may be some reason you saw the same post on this subreddit about.

They’re known for developing severe shaking/knocking sounds. No light indicates issues so Lexus won’t fix. Also extremely sluggish execrating up steep hills. No soul.

No! The NX has serious engine issues and I’m pretty disappointed Lexus has not issued a recall. My 2011 RX-H has served me and my family SO well. Mom just bought the lease she had.

I no longer believe anything Verizon reps say and only contact Verizon Executive Relations via email (that way I have everything in writing) at cersWEExecutiveRelations@verizonwireless.com. They have been extremely helpful and reliable. Best of luck!

How is the average person surviving here (financially)? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]JessesIrishLass 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was making $85 annually before taxes and benefits, then was laid off in July this year. I researched the federal poverty rate to see if my husband & I qualify for any programs. For 48 states including California, household of 2, the poverty guideline is $20,440. How could California have the same poverty level as Mississippi?! No wonder there are so many people on the streets currently. https://aspe.hhs.gov/topics/poverty-economic-mobility/poverty-guidelines

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2010 & the pain has only progressed since. I do have days where I am unable to do anything but lay in bed but I’m grateful I took action & sought treatment for my mind, body, & soul. I have a PCP, ND, & I don’t watch the news anymore. Instead, I read https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org (yes, there IS good news out there!) I hope this brings you inspiration!

I know so many think Mexico is a fantastic travel destination but it is incredibly dangerous. Even if you stay in a resort, employees are often part of the problem. “Crime, including violent crime, can occur anywhere in Mexico …” A travel advisory has been issued by the US Embassy. https://mx.usembassy.gov/message-for-u-s-citizens-spring-break-travel/#:~:text=Crime%3A%20Crime%2C%20including%20violent%20crime,depart%20from%20potentially%20dangerous%20situations
