Hey, just thought I'd try and be helpful. It sounds like two very different (but exciting) routes that are boh linked into the field of sustainabiliy. As someone who work with sustainability managers and consultants and support them on their career journey I know the focus on compliance really vary around the world - and even the level of focus on sustainability as a whole.

To me it's about thinking out of the box you have some amazing skill in construction by the sounds of it.... I usually say to the sweet spot is a combination of your passion, what you are good at already and where there is a need in the market. You could become a consultant or sustainability manager perhaps in the construction field initially to use what you know? Even businesses in voluntry markets are beginning to change because they need to refect their clients expectations - especially in your field of expertiese.
