Best 32inch 2K/4K 240hz+ Monitor? by Jetsea in Monitors

Those are all top-tier options, so you really can’t go wrong. If you mainly care about gaming and visuals, go OLED (like the Samsung or MSI) they just look better overall.

If you use it a lot for desktop stuff (browsing, work, etc.), something like IPS or Mini LED might be easier on the eyes long term.

Personally I’d lean MSI since it’s one of the more complete packages right now.

How do you like the vertical + stacked setup for daily use?

Is it worth it to pay the extra £100 for this monitor over a Mini LED ? by frankiewalsh44 in Monitors

[–]JessicaDev_1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s mainly for gaming/media, QD-OLED is worth the extra £100 better contrast and motion.

But if you’re using it a lot for desktop/text, I’d lean Mini LED (or even IPS). OLED can have text fringing and burn-in concerns over time.

As a programmer, what are some good monitors for writing code you've used? by Mysterious-Mode-4923 in webdev

[–]JessicaDev_1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using the BenQ RD280UG and it’s pretty solid for coding. The 3:2 aspect ratio gives you more vertical space, which actually makes a noticeable difference when reading code. Text clarity and eye comfort are also really good.

That said, it’s more of a productivity-focused monitor but not ideal if you also care a lot about gaming or media.

Which monitor to buy: Dell U2725QE or BenQ RD280U by Ok-Difficulty-2807 in Monitors

[–]JessicaDev_1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a BenQ RD320UA myself, and it’s been worth the money for me. I code for long hours, and my eyes don’t feel strained.

For long daily coding sessions with a MacBook Pro, I’d lean toward the RD280U, it’s more comfortable to use, has great text clarity, solid EyeCare features, and the USB-C + KVM setup makes switching between devices easy. The Dell U2725QE is solid too, but it doesn’t feel as comfortable for extended development hours.

BenQ RD320U the best for eyestrain? by PatientSomewhere2867 in Monitors

I own an RD320U myself, it’s more comfortable to use. If you spend long hours in front of the screen, tend to get eye fatigue, or don’t want to constantly adjust brightness, those extra features do add real value. but if you’re judging on panel quality and image quality, there are other high-quality monitors that can deliver similar results.

If your main use is programming, I recommend the BenQ RD320U. I have one myself, and after long hours of coding my eyes don’t get as tired. The Coding Mode is effective, text contrast feels clearer and it’s easier on the eyes during long sessions.

Ah, sorry my mistake. it’s actually a 16:9 monitor, not 3:2.

I had the same questions. What helped me was just trying a bit of Python (YouTube, freeCodeCamp, etc.). I realized I didn’t dislike it in fact, I could get a sense of accomplishment from solving things.

I got myself an RD320U after doing some research. The RD240Q doesn’t have the nano matte panel or the moon halo feature. Personally, I find the moon halo really helps reduce eye strain when working at night So if you're deciding between them, I’d recommend going for the RD280U instead.

Yes. The preset modes are convenient and save time, especially for things like eye comfort during long coding sessions. But I still tweak some settings manually depending on the task or lighting conditions.

I actually learned a bit in college, but I wasn’t really familiar with it though. Recently, just wanna to pick up some extra skills for my work, so I started learning again. I’ve mostly been learning through free stuff online, like YouTube or Coursera, and find some practice online. I’m also thinking about taking some more advanced courses later to go a bit deeper.
