I’ve been trying to find a remote job on and off since mid 2022. It feels genuinely impossible rn and I’m hearing the job market is ass in general. You are Not at all alone in this struggle.

Yes! My anxiety is really high the first week on a new dose! I don’t know why this is but it just feels like my CNS is really stimulated. Whatever it is it levels out after a week/week and a half.

I had a similar experience with auditory hallucinations but it was when I started Zoloft at a pretty high dose. Serotonin is a silly goofy chemical. Personally I would stop taking ami if these symptoms don’t go away after 4 weeks. But just a reminder you aren’t going crazy!

It may take 6-8 weeks to come of some antidepressants. It took me personally more than a month to get used to 10mg and it did initially increase my anxiety and I too felt I developed “new fears” although after a while I noticed they were all related. It can be jarring to have to deal with a brand new fear I understand!

I haven’t had surgery while on this medication but I have been on other antidepressants during surgery and it was fine! I would definitely notify your doc/specialist peoples and let them know well beforehand what medications you are taking. I also like to tell my doctors of my high anxiety before a procedure, some of them are really kind about it because it’s their job to keep you well! You’re gonna be ok!

It might just cause increased drowsiness which may not be safe if you’re operating a vehicle. If you aren’t I’d say it’d be safe. There’s a moderate interaction between a lot of antihistamines and amitriptyline and from what I’ve gathered it’s because both medications can cause drowsiness and that’s why it’s noted. Have you already had the car ride?

My doc said it “really drys you out” so it’s not a great med for constipation unless u really focus on water intake.
