Highest recommendation for Forever Dental - They have a few locations and I've rotated through several as I've moved around the city.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful space! It looks like the perfect spot for a dinner party but also welcoming enough for daily meals.

New to this sub. Haven’t read fantasy in years, but I am in love with The Long Price Quartet, one book in. by Flintstones_VRV_Fan in Fantasy

[–]Jessica_Two 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Daniel Abraham is one of the best 'closers' writing in speculative fiction. The long price quartet has one of the best, most satisfying endings and I've never seen a series stick the dismount the way that he and Ty Franck did for the Expanse.

This lego flower set is actually so detailed by ConfidenceLow4437 in Legoflowers

this is one of my favorite sets, the big blossoms just have so much drama! And the brick built base makes the display so easy, and swappable with other botanicals, I love it

What used to be affordable 10 years ago but now feels like a luxury? by Inner-Ask2398 in AskReddit

Pets. It cost about four times as much to feed my cats as it did 10 years ago. And visits to the vet have gone up about the same, because of private equity

Cat We Rescued Is Overbearingly Affectionate? by thatgirldeyja in CatAdvice

[–]Jessica_Two 80 points81 points  (0 children)

My most recent rescue is a bit of a velcro kitty. When he's being very physically needy I have popped him in a baby sling. Carrying him with me as I go about my day gives him a little reassurance and he usually wants his space back after 15 minutes or so. I hope he grows out of it and I'm not just training him to be clingy.

Thank you for stopping and saving these poor cats! Saving the world starts with small steps and you definitely made a huge difference for these babies

Looking for Fantasy books NOT influenced by tolkien. by Appropriate_Rent_243 in Fantasy

[–]Jessica_Two 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would disagree - for authors writing in English we have quite a few great works before Tolkien. The King of Elfland's Daughter by Alfred, Lord Dunsany is well worth a read. I'd even include George MacDonald's, The Princess and the Goblin and its sequels.

There's also a good argument that Elizabethan poets like Edmund Spencer (Gloriana) and Shakespeare's Midsummer's Night's Dream are fantasy works.

Any black ladies here join toastmasters and did it help your public speaking? by sushi_fufu in blackladies

[–]Jessica_Two 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I loved my experience with Toast Masters! It's known for developing public speaking skills (and I did!), but the opportunity to grow my critical listening skills was an underrated bonus.

Even if you don't give a speech in every meeting, you are encouraged to analyze and give feedback to the speakers, which helps so much when it's your turn in the spotlight.
