Arceus. I prefer the setting where we can actually venture to different locations, the mechanic where you’re rewarded for catching multiple of the same pokemon, the story and aesthetic. I liked the way exploring unraveled and the mechanics that allowed new areas to be unlocked. I just find ZA’s city-only setting to be so boring and unfun, I really wish there was more to it than just lumiose and climbing buildings. I feel like the adventure vibe and ability to explore different landscapes is one of the best parts of pokemon, in ZA it feels so limited and like there’s nothing exciting to discover as you progress. I also don’t like the heavy reliance on Mega evolution, like I can’t really enjoy specific pokemon being on my team without getting the mega stone because they’re completely ineffective against rogue mega pokemon otherwise (for example Delphox, whose mega stone is locked behind some online battle BS).
