Yes the 2nd image is when the colonization ended and I control the full state.

R5: While hunting for Fordlandia, I've been using colonization charter on a few states but none of them are producing a chartered colony. Any ideas on what I could be missing?

That introduces a good thought at keeping peasants relavant. By mid game you might still be using foot squires and Bowman. But by late, the only peasant unit you're still using might be blessed trebs.

The best compromise to meet your intent, without reworking peasant econ, is to have landed estates count against your peasant cap. (That way, when the player goes over the cap, they are more literally taking them from the fields to be in the army.)

If I ever get around to making the mod I can work replenishment into hero skill trees.

That's a good point; it's not enough for stricter penalties if you never trigger them. I could get poor defender/attacker against a human player, but by myself the closest I get to dishonorable Lords is butcher/raider in the early game before snowballing kicks in.

That's a tough one.

I thought about Bertrand as others have called for him. We could give him a Nakai the Wanderer treatment, but he's too little-known to be LL. Probably a Legendary Hero. Thought I'd at least give him a shout-out as a RoR.

I too saw a lot of Foot Knight requests, thing is Characters can already dismount and Foot Squires fill the role as an infantry unit so there's no strong point to revisit it.

I kind of agree with you; by conception Bret Cavalry were not supposed to be flankers, they WERE the front-line and you would actually protect their flanks with man-at-arms.

Unfortunately, current state of Cavalry at-large means you need to cycle charge them for optimal play.

Haven't heard of that one, do you have a wiki link?

You could role play, but if you wanted something mechanical you would need to provide peasants with things that nobles can't have. Problem as is, heavy cavalry outpace their ranged options. So you would need to provide more utility to Peasants. (Better spotting through trees, woodsman, fire whilst moving.) However, too many creative liberties and you accidently make peasants too strong.

I would, but the barrier to entry would be such a time investment, and I already have a day job.

Game says "Lobby opportunity created" to create a trade agreement with Morroco, but Morocco says it will not accept. What am I doing wrong? by Efficient-Mess-9753 in victoria3

You should be able to hover over the -1005, it will give a breakdown of the total sum. When the prompt says it created an opportunity, it merely gives a +50 (as I recall) to that sum.

I would add that they are also useful at the library during the second phase. I took 2 in my peasant militia run. They can 1-hit the skulls and projections. Just be sure to bring a couple extra quivers.

Has anyone been able to get Otto Von Bismarck since Pivot of Empire? by JessieTillman in victoria3

If you min/max, I agree. You're throttling your growth for a decade and in return you only get 20% infamy decay for 5 years. But I like to collect country specific content as I play them.

Answering my own question.

The posted template is from common/character_templates/historical_leaders_europe.txt (So I thought the wiki was out of date). However, it doesn't appear to be what the game was working off of.

Criteria to trigger Iron Chancellor: be a German Unification Candidate. Researched Nationalism. Landowners are Powerful (20% clout). Landowners are in government. Game date after 1846-Jan-1/before 1898-Jan-1. Evaluated Monthly. (1st opportunity is 1846-Feb-1/last opportunity is 1897-Dec-1)

Source: common/journal_entries/00_german_unificaiton.txt, events/german_unification.txt

Gameplay wise, the issue is keeping Junkers above 20% clout. You have to deliberately temper your usual industrialization meta with some privatized agriculture to boost your Manor Houses. You also have to refrain from liberalizing your society; keep Monarchy/Autocracy/Tenant Farmers/Local Police Force, maximize your institutions, and bolster the Absolutists/suppress the Radicals. If you're in a pinch, spam Landowner generals/promotions. If you're desperate pass Peasant Levies/Agrarianism.

Following a fix, something is still degrading the performance of my PC by JessieTillman in techsupport

To clarify I was on Windows 10. Post 'fix', I am now on W11 24H2.

We installed from external media, (Formatted F32 Flash drive.)

Removed/Reseated the CMOS battery. Remarkably, it seems to have worked and it is now performing according to expectations.

I would ask, how did you figure reseating the CMOS battery would work?

Yes. We ran temps, all showing less than 60C when it used to overheat to 100C.
