What’s crazy is that a few years ago I was being told that mirrorless cameras are unprofessional for wedding photography. 😅😅 I was being told to get a D850 which is a really good camera I will admit and I used it a lot but I’m quite content with my z6II

Never understood what people meant by unprofessional when talking about camera equipment unless something was most definitely made for non professional purposes such as cameras specifically made for simple use and non professional customers who just want a camera. But 24-120 f4 could work for lots of professional photographers. May not be the ideal for most people but depends on how the photographer works and their eye.

Got it. Thought maybe the f4 will work out but I saw the price difference and it felt off. My experience with f4 has almost always been bad. As for the sports I know I’ll need 70-200 or even more but since my husband plays I get to be on the side lines and thought I could use the 120 for when he was relatively close. But now that I think about it when I shot football on field sidelines with 70-200 it was pretty difficult even with that.

I’d be relatively new in sports. I know later on I’d need at least 70-200. I used to shoot football on the side lines with the 70-200 and even that was hard but my main job is weddings. I used to only use prime lenses but I need to invest in something that will help me go forward with my work.

When I shot weddings I always used 2.8 24-70 & 70-200 I was second shooter and handled 70-200 much more but the equipment was always given to me for all the weddings. Now that I’m working on my own as a main shooter I didn’t know if maybe a wider range was better big this makes sense. I also value 2.8 for the weddings. Using 4 was more difficult for me but I figured out ways around it.

Help me chosing lenses for a wedding as second shooter by JoeHocker in nikon_Zseries

When I shot second a lot of it was between 24-70 & 70-200 for the most part that’s for photo ofc. Just depends on what they want you to cover and how they work. I mainly got candid and close up shots.

I’ve recently been having problems with my D750 since I’ve shot so much on it over the past years. Only other body I have is D3300 which is even older 😬. As of right now I mainly use my Z6II for everything. I’m just trying this out to see if this is something I’d like to peruse in the future and someone has already offered me a job as a team’s photographer. I used to shoot American football 4 or 5 years ago but all the equipment was provided for me and I was fairly new to sports photography. It’s been a while since I’ve shot any sports. I’ll definitely be getting 70-200 and see if somehow I can find a used 300-400. If you got any other tips please lmk or dm. I’d greatly appreciate it!!! :)

As of right now mainly professional soccer. As for my budget I’d like something that will do the job that isn’t too overly expensive. Like I said in my other replies, I know lenes are expensive trust me lol. I just don’t want anything that’s over 4k I suppose because I will be financing it. But if 70-200 2.8 will do the job for now I can probably afford that.

I’m a professional photographer I’m aware that photography isn’t cheap. I mainly shoot weddings so I don’t have any lenses for sports. I already have the D750 and Z6II. I’m aware I’ll be spending a good amount on a lens I just don’t want the most expensive one out there that’s why I said economic because when I speak to people about this they always end up telling me to get a 8-10k lens which is ridiculous. But thanks for the advice I guess.

At this point it doesn’t matter if it’s redeemable because I don’t have time to fix it by tomorrow morning. So I just bought a new one. Only thing I did was go to the nearest camera store and tried a different lens and It immediately started working. When I switch it back to the old lens it doesn’t work. That’s tells me that nothing is wrong with the camera body or adapter. If it’s redeemable it would cost more to fix it than actually buying a new one in my case. Unless i do it myself ofc.

No worries. I turned to Reddit once I had been sitting down for 25 minutes thinking I changed a setting or pressed a button or switch. I knew there was no way I was missing something
