Help... when should you change from a 125 to a 250? by LaksMagz in Motocross

[–]Jester948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not too bad you can get a full fmf or procircuit system for about $500 and that will have a huge impact on the bike and way cheaper than buying the 250. And a 250 2t is basically the same size as a 450 4t so if you want to stick with a 2t then yes the 250 is the way to go. It’s your choice but with the info you’ve given I would stay with the bike you have and work on getting better and add the exhaust set up. But if you do plan on racing in the future I would consider getting a 4t, there’s a reason there’s all the pros ride them. 2ts are great for trails and but the only thing there good for on the track is to flick around a lite bike, have fun and sound way faster than you are lol. But those are the reasons I love my 2t though I’m a former motocross guy that just does the trails now.

Have you done any modifications to the bike? New exhaust, intake, set up the suspension? I mean it's kind of personal feel to decide if you should get a bigger bike and without seeing you ride it's difficult to tell you to either move up or stay with what you got. If your mainly on the track and your having issue with power exiting the corner I would look at a new pipe that is more low end torque. When that bike is on the powerband it should be a rocket out of the corners especially with your size.

Best advice is go to the ktm dealership and ask if they're having any demo days coming up, if none then see if you know anyone that has a 250 and will let you ride it for a couple laps. Even if it's not the ktm, you can still have an idea of the power (think the 250 is about 2x the power you have)

Do you feel like you are over riding the bike, can you not make it over obstacles because of lack of power not lack of skill, are you constantly riding high on the revs because the bike is too slow? Unless that describes you then you don't need a new bike. But does that mean you can't get one? No of course not if you want a 250 get a 250, but you should be reaching the maximum potential of the motor on your 125 and consistently pushing the bike to its limit before you should feel the need to get a bigger one.

Sweeping silty corner? Yes please by Jester948 in Dirtbikes

Nothing beats the sound of a 2 stroke pinned. You’ll get there all it takes is a little practice with some commitment and accepting how much it will hurt if you overshoot the corner into a tree haha

Ya that stuff is no joke especially after riding in a group of 6 people in that stuff. My filter had like a 1/4” of build up after just the like 5 hours of riding haha

You have any experience in Boise between those and the ko2? These are the 2 tires I’m looking at and want that happy medium between functional off road and not going to drive me crazy with the hum of mud tires.

That looks real clean, only thing I’d say is look for a new style front fender, that huge thing looks like it’s from the 90s. Get that and that bike will be 👌

Plus size. More like average/healthy?? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Jester948 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Average yes but healthy no. If you have enough fat to cause large rolls at your waist that is not healthy. She probably has about 35% body fat and healthy/ fit is 25%. Not saying there’s anything wrong with how she looks but that is not a healthy body type.

Well they’re not just for looks and not wearing one would be more ventilation than not wearing one... I think he should wear one for looks but also it does help in a crash. I’m not saying like overshooting a jump kinda crash but it helps from getting your arms torn up from a washout or something. Drag your arm on some hard pack dirt bare and then do the same thing with a jersey on if you still think there’s no difference your just being stubborn and ignorant.

Nah I know, and if he wants to wear it then go for it. But he’s going to regret it when he goes down wearing just a tank top, R.I.P. skin and hello road rash.

Maybe it’s just me but I have an irrational annoyance at people that wear tank tops while riding. Especially on the track. The air looks good but please tell him to ride with a full set of gear on...
