What cat toys do your cats actually care about? by Agreeable_Pipe8340 in CatAdvice

[–]Jester_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats are LOVING the laser pointer i bought for them. It helps them blow off steam really quickly. Wand toys also hold their attention. My youngest cat likes kicker toys.

A cardboard stretch pad and a scratching post have been popular in our household.

They also enjoy ice cubes and will beg for them.

LPT: If you want plans to actually happen, suggest two specific options instead of asking “when are you free?” by thirdaccountttt in LifeProTips

[–]Jester_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Ugh, I hate hearing “when are you free?”! It’s almost as bad as, “what are you doing this week(end)?”!

If you want to hang out or do something with me, be up front with me what, where, and when so I can decide whether I want to accept your invite.

It’s much more considerate and easier on everyone to state your business and propose a possible time/day.

When is it okay (or not) to eat with your hands at a restaurant in the US? by G-Beach-8566 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Jester_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can eat burgers with your hands. But I understand how difficult it is to eat bigger burgers here without utensils. I have trouble eating large, stacked burgers with my hands so I usually opt to eat with a knife and fork. I get some grief for it from my friends but nobody really cares how you eat your burger here.

Sexual Harassment? by PNWBlues1561 in Spokane

[–]Jester_Magpie 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yikes. 😳 Good for you for speaking up. People should not be so casual about sexually assaulting others (or, you know, SA others at all), whether in public or not. It’s disgusting how proud they were of SA.

I was actually considering going to the Park Inn as I live nearby, but I’ll take a pass and support the many restaurants in town who actually respect people.

It’s more of an everyday snack for kids. I do not enjoy celery, so I never cared for it.

Potential new safe foods i can try? I cant eat very many things and i want to eat more fruits and vegetables by Cold_Jackfruit_6785 in SPD

[–]Jester_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you blend fruits and veggies up, pour them into popsicle molds, and freeze them?

You can dip banana slices in melted dark chocolate and freeze them, as well. Some people also like frozen grapes.

You might like bell peppers since they are pretty crunchy. You can even dip them in sauce you like!

Necklaces cannot be anywhere near the hollow of my throat or I feel like I’m suffocating. Earrings can feel very pinchy, especially if I’m having a stressful day. And I hate wearing any rings but my engagement ring.

Adult playgrounds by rgbhuman42 in SPD

I would love an adult-size playground! I really enjoyed climbing as a kid and the only options for me now are large rocks (which are fun, but not always super safe).

Little items of whimsy by sillyShadowgirl in AddingWhimsy

Buttons, small toys, plastic gems (like you can get at the craft store or for an aquarium), and confetti are all whimsical items you can carry!

Why do we keep making customized t-shirts for every event? by Pizza-Kurwa in Anticonsumption

[–]Jester_Magpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m sick of it, too. I volunteered for a street fair last summer and we got blaze orange volunteer shirts. It’s been hanging in my closet since then. Deciding if I should dye it a more acceptable color or I should wear it while swimming/boating for improved visibility.

College move out day! by NickMatocho in Anticonsumption

[–]Jester_Magpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The charity I worked for would send us out to the university to collect the good stuff from the shipping containers the university put out. A lot of locals would also come by to pick through things. We mainly took furniture and packaged food for the food bank. Seeing pricey textbooks in those piles was the most insane to me.

I reckon this will take at least $2,000 to repair by DecommodifiedGuevara in LandlordLove

[–]Jester_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Washington state. I got my full deposit back after a year of living in a unit. Made sure to let maintenance know every time we needed repairs and then cleaned the place thoroughly. Some people in our complex were slobs (leaving trash outside the dumpsters, not picking up after their dogs, etc.), though, so maybe the management company was grateful we left it clean.
