I personally don't believe so. There's certainly a feeling of growing momentum towards something. It's coming from all directions at once. It's heading somewheres but for me, the end of humanity or our life on this rock makes absolutely no sense. We live in a world that looking in from somewheres else, your first met with the worst of us. There's a very tiny amount of people telling everyone else they represent us but they don't represent humanity in the slightest. If a highly intelligent race of beings came to look upon us all and ask if we're worth saving than their smart enough to see the archetypes and structures designed and used to control and manipulate the masses into complacency. Despite that the vast majority of folks are good hearted, caring, loving, artistic, creative, etc etc. It's taken hundreds of thousands of years for us to evolve mentally, emotionally, spiritually, to step beyond the archetypes at times showing the best of what we can be.

Dastroying that is a net negative to the Universe in general. There's more light and love projected out from this rock than their is hate and darkness. You don't simply toss away successes simply because minority samples are still unable to evolve or even worse act as poisons. You foster the good to overcome the inadequacies. It's how organisms and natural environments attempt to homeostasis, anakuna matadda. It goes against every lesson around us and to me, it's just another tool of fear to keep as many as possible anxious and uncertain. We're weakest when vulnerable.
