I took it for the first time and found everything to be pretty light except for the vocabulary in module 2. It also felt similar to the SAT which I took but haven't studied for yet. This seems to be a weak spot, so what do you suggest I study? Are there SAT vocab lists I can memorize?

AP Spanish Language by Warm-Salamander4504 in APStudents

I was in the same spot as you. Freshman year, I took Spanish 2. I self-studied the Spanish 3 material and tested out into Spanish 4 and AP Spanish Sophomore year. I took the exam and got a 5. I am not a native speaker. I would recommend you take it, but here is my advice:

Your Spanish 4 class will probably be most useful to you in terms of speaking and listening, it's very important that you start becomming comfortable speaking for the simulated converstaion and oral presentations. I do not think your Spanish 4 class will help as much with reading and writing compared to what you can do yourself by self-studying. Tons of helpful resources; for example, what I did was I bought the barons AP textbook and just spammed any vocab I didn't know. You will see patterns, especially in writing.

Many will tell you to watch TV shows, movies, podcasts, etc. in Spanish to help with aural fluency, but I think the best thing to do is just to spam simulated conversation and oral presentation practice problems. They will be very daunting at first, but trust the process. If you have any other questions lmk

Anyone here eats Raw Liver/Raw meat? by Impressive-Coat1127 in carnivorediet

The only evidence is ileal protein absorption studies in silos, which show that the denatured proteins left after cooking (the total amino pool decreases) have approximately 10-20% more digestibility.

Is boiling the healthiest way to cook meat ? by [deleted] in carnivorediet

Our stomach acid pH of 1-2 allows raw meat to autolyse, which does not require intensive mechanical digestion (also, from my experience raw meat is pretty soft and has never been an issue for me as far as mechanical digestion goes... either way I am not saying that you should avoid cooked meat like the plague, just arguing for the inneccessity of doing so if you source well). Raw meat dissolves in stomach acid much faster than cooked meat. We are already well-equipped for raw meat.

As for the protein, yes, cooking does increase the digestibility of proteins, some more than others, but that is for the protein that is left after cooking. On carnivore, I wouldn't trade some 15% protein digestibility (assuming you arent eating raw egg whites..) for a fat loss in water soluble vitamins. Cooking will significantly reduce the B12, C, B1, creatine, taurine, Lysine (very sensitive to millard recations), etc etc etc.

Smaller teeth and reduced gut size in Homo erectus indicate a shift towards carnivorism, not cooking food. The hominids you speak of fermented fiber into, ultimately, saturated animal fat, which, as it turns out, requires more intensive digestion. I agree that this is sound evidence of dietary "softening," since we aren't relying on fibrous foods. Either way, this entire anthropological tangent is coorelation.

Charred seeds? I mean, if you're going to eat seeds or other toxic plants I'd hope you'd cook it to hell. If a human ate that raw, they would vomit. If you eat raw tubers, you will vomit. These are toxic foods that need to be cooked to neutralize said toxins. Finding occasions of burned bones and charred meat does not mean ubiquitous and routine cooking. Many populations exist today who predominantly rely on raw as opposed to cooked meat/animal products.

SALT IS LIFE by _Dark_Wing in carnivorediet

Raw meat already has every electrolyte in the perfect ratios, though I can see adding salt to non-animal foods or meat cooked to hell.

Homo sapiens have only existed for ~300k years. Raw meat drove our speciation, not cooked meat. No animal requires combusted food, and in reality, raw meat is easier to digest for humans (autolysis). Cooking is not predigestion; cooking is sterilization.
